Prove that it isn't, Pump. Ok, if this is just some random explosion that somehow resulted in life........ Where did everything come from that initiated the Big Bang? Can't get something from nothing. If we are just mechanical creations resulting from nothing but blind luck and circumstance, how come we have such deep emotions and feelings. Wouldn't we be more impersonal? I mean, MIS cries everyday. There is such order and purpose to everything on planet earth, amazing how that happened? You come to Wildwood this summer and I'll show you God. Conservatives are supposed to be God-fearing types. You are a strange republican, as are many on here. I mean, there are numerous southern republicans on here who don't like Jesus. That's pretty strange. Hey guys, do you notice how my thread, intended for moderator abuse, has "tangeted" Do you see me getting upset calling for..." On Topic....On Topic...." No, I don't give a F. That's how all y'all should be. Don't worry aboot topics. Let it flow like urine. Am I allowed to say, "Urine."
An atheist was taking a walk through the woods, admiring all that the evolution had created. "What majestic trees! What powerful rivers! What beautiful animals!", he said to himself. As he was walking alongside the river he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him. He turned to look. He saw a 7-foot grizzly charge towards him. He ran as fast as he could up the path. He looked over his shoulder and saw that the bear was closing. He ran even faster, so scared that tears were coming to his eyes. He looked over his shoulder again, and the bear was even closer. His heart was pumping frantically and he tried to run even faster. He tripped and fell on the ground. He rolled over to pick himself up but saw the bear right on top of him, reaching for him with his left paw and raising his right paw to strike him. At that instant the Atheist cried out "Oh my God!...." Time stopped. The bear froze. The forest was silent. Even the river stopped moving. As a bright light shone upon the man, a voice came out of the sky, "You deny my existence for all of these years; teach others I don't exist; and even credit creation to a cosmic accident. Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament? Am I to count you as a believer?" The atheist looked directly into the light "It would be hypocritical of me to suddenly ask You to treat me as Christian now, but perhaps could you make the bear a Christian?" "Very well," said the voice. The light went out. The river ran again. And the sounds of the forest resumed. And then the bear dropped his right paw ..... brought both paws together...bowed his head and spoke: "Lord, for this food which I am about to receive, I am truly thankful...AMEN!" Author Unknown Respect the bear and his creator!
The two conversations going on in this thread are blowing my mind. Riley Riley Riley - stop with those pills man. They are not pain killers, they are pain bringers, they are slave makers. There is nothing wrong with getting it done the old fashioned way - with a jibber and a sixer. Your enemy or friend (still TBD) Bub seems to me like a dude you should grab a few waves, beers, or maybe a slice of pizza with. We wants pics, too. WAYNE - I give up. You've converted me. I'm packing my bags and coming down to florida to get involved in your jebus pyramid scheme. Have you gotten non-profit status yet? That's the first step in really banking off religion. Just look at the scientologists - they fought hard for that. And by fought I mean bought.
Ok then, I will give you a heads up if I know I am going to be down that way. Stockton. I liked it but as you said and you are right it is a "different" type of education. Lots of wanna be hippies and the like which drove me crazy. I boarded there freshman year and then a few other halves of semestrs when I lost my license and could not commute from my beach apartment/house's (which was cheaper than living on campus). I generally stayed away from the "college life" because I did not really have too much fun at the "parties" I went to. For clarification there were none to speak of. Instead I played sports, surfed, and kept to myself. I was like a ghost I would sneak into class and sneak out and leave campus immediately except to play basketball. I miss surfing AC. I miss south jersey too. I was "tissied" because I was "being hassled for no reason" Did you think I would not object? Did you think I would let you "get away" with it? I didn't ask to be hassled. I think that is perfectly fair don't you? It did keep me entertained at work. Hope it did on your end as well.
that is pretty good lol.I was religious once upon a time, but now im not.i don't consider myself an atheist or whatever else is floating around.i believe in spirituality and faith, but do not believe in a guy living in the clouds.i believe u do good, good will come back to u,and if u do bad shyt it will haunt u,which is karma I guess. man shouldn't need a book to tell them how to live,or for muslim sakes who to kill.some people need religion tho, people who have nothing like prisoners on death row.i noticed over the years people turn to god in times of stress,I know I have. I converted to the Christian thing when I was waived up to adult court and sentenced to grown man d.o.c.I was 16yrs old.the man who turned me on was the biggest nicest guy u would ever meet.he never told me his charges while we were locked up together.i seen the guy with his shirt off and a durag one day and thought wow this guys going to kill me.he told me to give him my info so we can go to church when we get out.well he was sentenced to 82 years to Trenton state.i seen his pic in the paper, turned out he was a serial rapist at Rutgers in new Brunswick nj.his name is bruce sterling,u can look it up lol.I guess god was on his side because after 4 years his conviction was overturned and he was released.never got to thank the man
Organized religion is all about the $$$ is there a Jesus? Humans pray and humans die anyway . Get real folks . You are your fate , twist it anyway you can .
no. i won't. do you have any proof or does your timidity manifest itself only in fluffy stories? no proof; huh? just like the billions that came before you. not one ounce. sigh.
got into a argument with a dude from ohio last night no wonder our country doesnt progress with such narrow minded people. are there even moderate republicans ?
your talking aboot the gell the put in them that makes it hard as a rock? damn man where you hooting or bangin?
read 'A Universe from Nothing' by Lawrence Krauss. He explains exactly how you can get a big bang from 'nothing'. Skee Ball on me Careful with the generalizations on the GOP. Barry Goldwater (pretty much the father of the modern conservative movement) same guy
This is an area where folks can basically show "proof" for their position, regardless. There is proof all around us that this creation ain't no accident. If ya wanta see it, cool. If not, cool too. What was this tread about again? I'm lookin forward to when Riley and Phoniks get together, perhaps over a poker game with Bogeton Wolktucks. Oh, and cdog, great story. I can see that bear... "Thank you for my vittles..." LOL Peace y'all.
words are not evidence. i want to see the proof. you say its all around us; ok, name one thing. fact is; as we hurdle into the future... each passing day tends to re-enforce the notion that.... humans could quite possibly be an accident.
Perfection like that ^^^ don't just happen, y'all... Also, have you ever smelled BACON cookin? mmmmmmm
