Put a fan near any vents that may lead to pipes. Blows warmer air into hard to reach areas. Though you need some heat in your domicile.

Let your faucets drip a bit at night.

Ask Wayne to appeal to Jesus to help you with your pipes.

    You guys look at buoys?

Sometimes the buoys say 10 foot but it's heading the other way. Ya know? Doesn't winds create waves? Sometimes the winds blow the other way and send swells to Mexico or Portugal.

Dudes, forget the buoys and just scope Surfers View for da most kine NJ spots on da cameras. You'll never look at a buoy again. They got a cam for Belmar and Cape May.

I wish I could have gone out this morning. If I was real, I would have. But I have a job, so I'm not. Real surfers don't work.

They're actually flowing again, thanks for the tips though Brad. You too, Riley.

I came back from surfing to a bunch of municipal trucks blocking my driveway. The plumber dude took out the meter and tried defrosting it. He f'd it all up and the town caught him with the lid off. He said he didn't touch it, municipal called bs, and said they would call the cops. The plumber dude then admitted he touched it. Dude looked so guilty when I pulled up. The town guys were jackhammering the sidewalk, and told me it may be a week without water. They were pumping water through to do their thing, so I got a hot shower, AND rinsed my gear! I figured any second the water would stop, but it didn't. They wound up fixing most of it, and I now have water. I think municipal was like f this guy until they realized I was cool, and just the tenant. After the shower I hung and bs'd with them the whole time.

I surfed 2 1/2 hours! The sun + light wind made that happen. I got a couple head dips, lip rips, and one scary backflip into 2 ft of water on a head high, square wave. The water is icy! Good times!

I've done this more times than I'd like to admit.

Waiting for something better isn't bad, unless it was better while you were waiting.

Also, the Corps of Engineers operates some wave buoys that read height, period and direction from just a few thousand feet from the beach. Mostly west coast but they have buoys off Delaware and Maryland as well. I find them more representative of surf conditions than the NOAA buoy 26 miles out.

Are there are any off NJ?

I do fairly well with translating the NOAA 065 data to what's on the beach, but I've paid attention to it for years. I feel like any buoy that's new to me would take a while to figure out.

Not sure...the Corps does a terrible job making their buoy data easily accessible. I know Swellinfo has the buoy data for the Maryland station that is just a few thousand feet off the OC fishing pier. its the station OCSM2 that is reading 2.6 @ 10 seconds E swell.

Are these claims of 29F and 30F water legit? I've not seen EMass/NH/ME buoys, or any for that matter, ever read less than 35. Then again, this is only my third year at it.

Eff that schitt. I'm getting on another bird bound for SFO in a couple hours. OBSF is actually surfable for the common man the next two days and that's where I'll be at. I'm so far removed from winter water on the EC that I'm not sure I'll be able to step in it for at least a month. It's gonna be too much of a shock not having charged in it since Christmas Day. I've got many single digit air temp sessions under the belt but this winter has done a number on my psyche. I tapped out on it long ago lol peace out.

Schitt baddy wasn't kidding. Just checked AC and sure enough, 29F. For an area that gets way warmer water than us in the summer, that's astounding. Is this common for Jerz or just this winter? Haven't ever checked Mid-Atlantic water temps in the winter. Wow. You cats got more of my respek after seeing that. Dougie, you're an animal bro. 2.5 hours in that. So Gnar.

Yup. Seems awfully strange readings as I mentioned before. Makes my index of suspicion rise to think something is wrong with the readings themselves. Having said that, I guess it is within the realm of possibilities...
