TEXTBOOK case in toms river recently. 4 yr old takes dads' 22 (rimfire; no less...which means technically it
should do less damage) and shoots and kills 6 yr old neighbor cause dipsheet left the round in the chamber (!!).
perps dad is law enforcement, he's dialed-in and has big deal lawyer...nevertheless he's convicted and looking
    at 3 year prison term.

    not so bad, right?
well, no. do you know how cops fare in prison?

I like guns, Fk you! lol

Some people actually hunt with them. Growing up in the south we all had guns but we didn't shoot each other, course this was before so many kids were "medicated".

Thugs fired rounds off in my neighborhood a week or two ago took popo awhile to show up and the station is less than a mile away. I was safe.

...and i thought gun control was a surfboard thread.on how to control gunboards....hmnmm
one of the main problems is proper education in gun safety..kids should never know where your guns are even stored..even if they find them they should either A. be locked..or B. have the magazine and ammo stored seperately..laziness in proper storage and safety always leads to accidents...

    Ditto on this.

My dad taught me gun safety from the beginning. The accidents occur out of parents irresponsibility as others have said.

I think it has a lot to do with where you were brought up. Hunting is big historically for gun owners. Sport (target shooting) has become more popular over the years.

Whoever mentioned proper storage around the kids knows the deal. That is the key on accidents.

I think the mental background check on purchases is something I agree with.

Crazy World we live in though...

Haha, that's what my buddy always says.

I did think this thread was about gun boards.

    Here is a story…

A little over a year ago, I was at work. I was starting on the application for a client of mine. About 2 minutes into the meeting, a guy rolls in all jacked up, ski mask, gun out and claiming "do what I say immediately or I will kill you! This is a motherfu(kin robbery!" Of course the tellers freak out and he goes to bead on them.

Meanwhile, I am in my office and witness all of this taking place. He hasn't noticed us yet. I could describe the design aspects of my office, but PM me for those details and I digress. ANyway, this is happening in a matter of less than 10 seconds easily. My client springs into action, calls at the guy, he turns quickly and simultaneously is wheeling the gun to point on him. My client fires and kills the guy. BOOM! DEAD! Right in the heart. It was truly gnarly at that range.

He could have wiped all 6 of us out. My family up north always says, "that is the problem with guns." I disagree. You outlaw guns and only outlaws have guns. Look up Chicago and DC. Gun-free cities. The crime rate there is…Bueller…Bueller

That moment of being unarmed with my respect and experience with the tool was by far the most sickening feeling ever. I literally thought I would be killed. I am the only male employee, therefore, the greatest threat to said criminal. I had no idea the client was armed, but he saved our lives.

I find it interesting the media did not care for the story.

My attention is warranted elsewhere again. If you care for all of the details, PM me and we can talk about it over some waves.

I hear you Baddy. Like I said, Crazy world. In my crazy Utopian perspective it would be the opposite of that. But, to quote an old school lyric...."when the s#@* goes down you better be ready..."

I'll stick with Moon Dog's theory.

But to be completely honest it doesn't even look full auto... I would need to see the receiver and action to truly be able to tell though.

We are all now on a watch list...

I may be being paranoid here...but...about thirty years ago I ordered "The Anarchist's Cookbook," and for a while some of my mail looked sketchy, ie tampered with/opened... and some packages and correspondence were never received.
