It is easy to understand your frustration. As for "being more concerned for humanities well-being", let me assure you, our adversaries in the middle east refer to those of you that feel that way as "useful idiots", simply because, they wish to kill you and you will make it easy for them, feeling as you do. They want to kill you because of who you are, not for any reason other than that.
So, if you want to end the warfare, the quickest way to do so is as rcarter points out, bomb the fook out of them until there is nothing but oil remaining. I prefer the nuke route (ask the japs how that works), but failing that, B1, B2s, and B57s with conventional bombs should suffice. No troops other than the pilots needed.
Sad that it has come to that. But THEY have created the situation. Not us.
I am as sick of it as you are. But I am sure my solution differs than most of yours.
