It certainly would have saved lots of lives of our troops, and there would be not one peep from an islamic soldier.

Yeah, BUT we wouldn't even have ISIS if Saddam was still in power.

True, but only temporarily. Also, our Navy needs oil. Period. What can I say?? The reason the USA leaves an open border to Mexico is simply because our military gets 15% of its oil supply from....Mexico!! woooohoooo!!
Todays world is governed by oil politics--has been so ever since the dreadnaught warships came into being, ridding us of the dependence on coal and collier supply ships, etc. It is life. We didn't make it that way--changing it will be a slow process taking decades. The sooner the better.

Don't most of our ships use nuclear now?

Carriers do. Subs as well. As for the other vessels in the fleet, many do, but many still are oil driven, I believe.

    Finally some hate!lol
Knowledge? As to who started the turmoil there it's not so cut and dry. Exactly how did they start it? If you answer9/11 I'm gonna laugh my a** off. If that is your reasoning we should have bombed Saudi Arabia instead of protecting them. We've been involved since WW11 with the dividing of the area as well as our CIA disposing of the shaw of Iran, at the bequest of, ahem, BP, in the 1950s. I'll keep it short, Pump, would we be there if not for oil? Gotta get to work. Peace.
Sorry guys, I like to argue.

    Ooo, a conspiracy guy!!!
Arguing is fine!! It is what makes us tick.
BTW, as an edit, it is not "who started it". It is better to discuss how we are going to defeat them - this is what counts. Unless you prefer to lose your head at the swing of a scimitar??

Yes and here's why. Post WW2 it was all about 2 things fighting Communist expansion and Israel. You can also add the post-colonial vacuum to that list. Our involvement in Iran was a check on the Soviets. Same with Turkey. The Rooskies had Egypt and Syria so we had to load up the IDF as a counter.

You can look up our involvement (the CIA) in the overthrow of the shaw now that the documents are declassified. I suggest reading Sibel Edmunds' Classified Woman" for a different view point of 9/11

rcarter I thought there was free speech in 'Merica if you are dumb enough to try it. I don't want to hang out with ISIS or the KKK as I don't share their ideals. I love my country not my goverment.Hope you get some waves I'm jealous.

now that the cold War is over, the dictators installed in these countries by both sides needed something to focus their people hatred on instead of them so they got this whole hatred of the West and Israel going and wrapped it in religious fanaticism. Walla, where we are today.

The red scare was such a joke. Great reason to get involved in southeast asia for 15 years.

I understand that actual threat that was the Soviet Union...just saying we got away with some bs with that as a justification.

Ya, no problem. However, the "useful idiot" was a news article I was simply relaying to you, I was not calling you that. It was an interview with higher ups in one of the islamic terrorists referring to the liberal side in the USA. They were simply trying to pick a fight, I suppose.

I like this definition best.A conspiracy theorist is an individual who challenges known liars.
Quite frankly I'm more worried of being shot by the police than facing a terrorist.
I actually wasn't refering to you personally as a redneck and from where I come from that's not neccessarily derogatory term anyhow.lol

I'm not going to debate who started it and I'm pretty sure the US at the very least prolonged it. All I'm saying is we got the bombs and might so lets finish it.
