I'm going to make a surfboard rack.

Should I store them inside or outside.

    I have seen/done both.

Discuss the title topic ye surfer brahs and wahines.

I keep all of my boards inside, it's better for them and keeps them in better shape and as bagus suggests, they won't grow legs that way.

I made an 8 board rack. Put wheels on it (casters) - I can wheel it inside or outside.

I like to store my boards outside in the grass, preferably in the sun, with the wax side up. Another key to outside storage is to be sure to wrap the leash around the board. Tuck it in real nice, so when the wax melts, you have little kung fu grip bumps.

Inside. Don't treat my boards worse than I treat my dogs.

UV radiation and freeze/thaw/freeze/thaw are both pretty deteriorating forces on foam and fiberglass. The more shelter from those the better.

garage ceiling rafters, here, too...although it does get pretty hot up there (dumbas$ that built it didn't put in any ventilation), so my wax gets melty in summer.

    LOL

Next to the cinderblocks stacked way to high that could easily blow over?

^this. Plus, don't risk them growing legs. Garage wall racks works well for me...not so much for my wife's car.

    matt mitchell.

Your absolutely right. I knew that I guess I just needed reaffirmation. With the setup I have outside is perfect but well.......I like my surfboards too much to mess around.

For people who keep their boards outside, how do you keep them from getting wet?
