    Wait.....this is actually really interesting.

Iv recently picked up a bonzer from another member on here. I'm sold on the idea. It's a 5er, never rode a 3.

I get the concept of an asymmetrical board but have no experience. I don't see how having two side runners on one side and one on the other would help. I get the asymmetrical tail and how that would, or supposedly would, help. Even with the asymmetrical concept in mind, I'd think you'd want to stick to either the standard 3 or 5 fin setup. I just don't see the benefit in terms of going front/back side.

Diffrent sized side runners I'd get.

    Anyone have any serious input?

This is amazing.. Metard, you've been on here long enough to know whats up. drive from a keel on the toeside and loose feeling of a quad on the healside. your feet are not symetrical (toe/heal) so why are your boards? Never ridden one but ryan burch and carl ekstrom like them and think they work pretty good.

2 small fins feel different than 1 longer. you still have loose feeling from no trailer but the fins act totally different. More drive on front side and more pivot on backside... ever try to ride a twin fish backside vs quad backside...much easier on a quad/.

^^^^ I'm not seeing it that way, although I don't exactly disagree either.

Point of a asymmetrical is to make things more user friendly on the backside. Right? And correct me if I'm wrong but the round tail side would be the backside.

From what I understand the 5 fin bonzer is a 3 fin, just with the side runners split into two rather than one. Added maneuverability. Not going to call you out and say your wrong, but I believe they have similar drive. Just looked it up on the CB website, no mention of difference in drive between the two.

So what I don't get is why you'd want your front side less maneuverable than your back side? Just seems odd to me.

And like I said, I'm no expert at all. Only rode one bonzer and it is a 5er. Just don't see your argument about drive. The whole bonzer concept, 5 or 3 fin, is based off drive.

    That guys surfing is awesome.

I get what your saying. The rounded tail/quad makes backside maneuvers easier. But why not keep the quad set up on the front side? Your enhancing your backside, but limiting your front side, no? Why not enhance both. I appreciate the effort but I'm just not getting it hahaha. I'll stick with symmetrical boards for now

    Easy:

It's so you get confused while surfing- thus your wave count goes down- then your friends will be happy.

So it's a board to make more friends with.
