I have only been around a few years and definitely don't post or know as much about surfing as a few of you cats so I decided to look all the way back to some of the first posts just to see what it was like here when the forum got underway.

Seems to me a lot of folks were stoked that it was a free site and shared some quality info, not that I don't get a chuckle out of most of the b.s. that gets thrown around here since ive been here.

I was wondering if any of you have looked back through the archives and thought about how much we take for granted , other than the forum there are some pretty good sections to view .

Please don't stop the hatin because I need a good laugh sometimes but definitely use the entire site if you haven't already.

Hope you all are getting your share of the waves,

this board is like a combination of /b/, the outdoor section of your local K-Mart and the kids that rode the short bus in School.

I don't take no take nothing for granted. There's nothing to take for granted.

WE allow a dude to own a pool in coastal Delaware by our use of this site.

If anything the owners of this site take US for granted, as nobody needs any of these sites. But they need us.

Seldom didn't one of us have this single cassette?

No joke, I rode the short bus for a bit in high school. I went to a program for kids that didnt try, kids with kids, kids going to or coming from juvie, etc. Freshman year I went to normal high school and tanked. I got tweeded every day and skated around town. It was great. Soph year they put me in this program from 7-11:30 that was like, "Oh, you wanna draw graffiti all day, cool lets give you some art credit. Here is a video camera, go make a movie." Bumming smokes off my teachers. At 11:30 I skated off into oblivion. Did that junior year too. Senior year I went to the same program but for seniors and super seniors and super super seniors that ran from 11:30-3:30--- we rode the short bus in in the morning and home if we needed. No joke we read Fear and Loathing my senior year....

And then I went to community college and got straight A's, then to state school straight As, then got an academic scholarship, Syracuse grad.

Some of the girls I rode the short bus with became massage parlor hoes.

Dude, if this story is even half true (and it's probably completely true), then this is a GREAT story. I knew there was probably a lot more to you than a puking avatar.

Ha yea, talk about anonymous. His aviatore won't even show its face.

100% true. A girl from that program was a grandmother at 31. She had a 4-5 year old when she graduated at 19.

Your story sounds like one of my friends who went from a skate bum to a high powered attorney for one of America's largest cities!
