Immigration reform is exactly that. reforming the immigration system not necessarily deporting everybody. If you made it impossible for illegals to get jobs and govt benefits, most would self-deport. The challenge becomes how to let people in with a controlled manner. I actually liked Bush's plan for guest workers. they come and work for a while then go home (repeat as needed) but the conservatives flipped out and killed it. The issue with Obama is the fact that he basically gave himself the power immigration which resides in Congress. I don't care which side of the fence politically you are on, it is very dangerous to have this much power in the exec branch and sets a very bad precedent. Whats to stop a conservative President from doing the same type of thing?

 

There are NO FACTS in politics. Every "fact" is an expression (numerical or otherwise) of bias. There is no "intellectual" discussion in politics. It is "the" reason I will not engage with hanna in an "intellectual" discussion . It is non-existent in the world of politics. All "facts" are paid for by political parties (example--all polls, to include Gallup et al).
So, you are correct--all you think, all I think, all hanna and others think....is mere opinion based on "biased" facts.
All politics is emotional--yours and mine, other, etc.
However, that does not mean I cannot come to this site and needle the puck out of all you guys!! hahahaa!!

Well, I have mated with Canadians and let me tell you they laugh at us anymore. And they LOVE Obama.

Canada's middle class just recently exceeded America's. Yes, the Canadians as a whole are doing better than us. Just stay out of Regina and Winnipeg.

Really, Bill? You're asking a lot of open-ended questions, but not providing any opinions on what exactly should be done. And, for the sake of argument, what exactly is your personal experience with immigration, deportation and/or the necessary expenses for such a project? Have you ever worked with any of those agencies, or are you just using "empirical data" from what you've read?

I think you are already aware of what my experience is. The situation is really a lot simpler than what "immigration advocates" would like the sheeple to believe.

 

I married one. There are an equal number that hate Obama, and probably you as well, just because you are american. My wife loves it here; she is a naturalized american. She would never go back.

 

Then she musta really fugged up there. All the kanucks I've met love it there. Don't have to worry about losing everything if they get sick and economical junkets to CR.

 

And this gets to the crux of the original post. PHONY conservatives. Those who spout principles of conservatism to get elected then do the opposite (much like the liberal who runs on calls warfare and then gets rich in office). Cruz is a stereotypical version of this. He professes small govt but wants to use govt power to support his agenda. He portrays himself as a constitutionalists but undermines the 10th Amendment when a state does something he doesn't like. I can go on but you get the picture.

 

And lastly...

Being apathetic is a great way to handle politics...

Canada is a very nice place. My wife loves Canada, but not to live anymore--she is, contrary to those you just spoke about, not depended on the government, which seems to be your criteria. We go back every year to visit family and friends.
But for me, Canada?? To live ?? Way too cold, man. But the food is awesome, for sure.

 

You stated you are a teacher in prior posts?? That means, if true, you are dependent on government for your existence.

No one can give specifics. And no, Obamacare hasn't ruined the country. The economy has only improved since the ACA.
