    Hi Frost,

Don't do the knee thing. Just pop up. As fast as you can. If you want to stand up surf.

The board is a retro step up, made for decent waves, but could be good to learn on. Lots of paddling power, flotation, and stability, unless you are over 250 lbs. If you can play tennis (Da Cat played tennis his entire storied life), you probably have the conditioning. Practice pop ups on land, and do some burpees to get the fast twitch muscles up to speed.

    You can do it!

    Hi my name is Hawk

Every couple a months I try to buy another board for real cheap, like $30 or $40 in the hopes that one day i'll make a surfboard fence or something cool out of em.

If the board is good enough (might have to pay a lil extra) I ride it.

I'm always looking for boards around dumpsters, or when I see somebody moving out of a beach house I peruse their trash. To date I have one 10'6' wallhanger and a 7'2" "experiment."
I also have way more boards than I should for the caliber of my surfing...
