exactly...this is why he is one of my favorites as well. He is doing stuff that blows minds not the same air reverse the whole tour is doing. Who cares if he does not compete. Free surfing is where it's at. Another one is Mikala Jones...guy is living the dream.

Good question...it seems any time I see a clip of him, it just looks different from "mainstream" rippers. I don't know if he has a deep list of unique maneuvers just a unique style that I dig. Agree with you about Dane...although "better" is a tough yardstick between those two. Dane does some sick stuff fo sho!

i like clay but dane is better in my opinion. i get no vibes from clay but lazy and lacking motivation.

On a side note: Just watched on Heat Analyzer, Kelly's 8.5 from yesterday. Unreal! Speed, Power, Flow, Unique Lines, Style, etc. Not comparing him to Marzo, that wouldn't be fair.
that was one of his weaker edits.go on youtube and look up clay marzo the new Yorker.just makes u feel shutty seeing a foreigner come and rip the waves better than the local pros.him in Puerto Escondido is another good edit,him pulling into 10 ft closeouts and making it out with the stones satisfaction in Spanish lol. some of his clayback hacks as I like to call them are damn near impossible.hes basically laying down on the wave on his back while his feet somehow stay glued to the board.

Any pro freesurfer is amazing!! You shouldnt even try to compare em, thats why theres contest and the dont partake so leave it at that.... Just enjoy the visuals..
