    Don't forget IBC, Spicoli.

Bagus, all top surfers and surf industry leaders are Hebrew.

^^^ South Padre going off!!! Katrina was such a bad one though, kinda like Andrew, just devastating. Bitter sweet game we play with these storms. On one hand we want these amazing storms that create big perfect waves on schedule every year, on the other we want them all to avoid our coast lines to spare our lives and personal belongings from getting ruined. I've been lucky living here all my life, but i'm sure it's just a matter of time before my home gets it, especially as I move closer to the water in October.

    Anyways, awesome pic

Hey dude. Since you mentioned tanker surfing, does that mean you're coming to Galveston? I'm kinda new in Texas still (3yrs), but maybe could help.

    Like Spicoli said,

Nat's more up on things down here than me.

    Paulie in Galveston

Yeah, his name is Fulbright. That's his last name. He will take you out and help you do it. There are plenty of boards to rent on the sea wall. The only thing about that is it has to be really flat to do the tanker surfing. Shoot me a text if your coming for sure. 940-206-6669.

I bought a board from Fulbright and the guy is pretty cool and extremely knowledgeable. I think he pioneered tanker surfing in the area, maybe on a broader scale, but I suggest going through him for that. I know the "season" is kicking off with the Gulf warming up.

James Fulbright made tanker surfing a reality as witnessed in the movie "Step into Liquid". June 2013 James and his crew of five got caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. Boat capsized and James was life flighted to the hospital with a broken back. He suffered paralysis and has been in rehab since. His shop is still open and he has the support of many friends and family since he was really a surfing pioneer of sorts.

Be extremely careful if you hook up with someone who can take you tanker surfing. There is much more to it than just chasing tankers. Make damn sure they are legit. I cannot even recommend anyone. Knowing the ship channel and the size of the Tankers passing by and at what time is just the beginning of it. I would not recommend taking someone who is already partially disabled into that type of environment. I have seen many boats capsize in Galveston Bay because they were clueless.

If you end up in Galveston there will be some chopping conditions with a strong side shore current due to too much east wind. Hit the seawall and stick close inside one of the jetties near the Pleasure Pier to cut off some of the current and you should find a couple fun peaks to play around on. Check out Southern SPears on 61st and Seawall Blvd for a rental long board or SUP for your warrior buddy.

Been in boardies and 2mm top for a couple of weeks now and the water will probably be about 72* by the time you get here so you certainly have that to look forward to.

    Be safe.
