No...if the person is unarmed (Tazer's don't count).

A cop (ANY cop) is not allowed to use "deadly force" unless the cop reasonably believes that the suspect presents a clear and present danger to:

    a) The suspect himself,
    b) The cop(s), or
    3) An innocent 3rd party.

Clearly, this cop shot somebody that was running away and was not a danger to anybody. He could argue that the guy stole his Tazer and could have reasonably presented a danger to others, but it won't wash in front of a judge and jury. This guy is *done*. So MIS, you can rest your head at night knowing that this guy will rot.

How many of youse guys heard about the Mexican drug runner that got shot in the a$$ by a couple of Border Patrol agents while he was running away (on the Mexican side, no less)? I was there when it happened (the town, I didn't personally witness the shoot).

Those guys got convicted and put away for several years, until Dubya commuted their sentences. I think both of them work at WalMart or some place like that. Their LEO careers are over.

LEOs aren't trained to shoot non-lethally

I really think tech has evolved to a point where there are non lethal ways to incapacitate someone, not that that is super humane, but at least dude would be able to see his kids again!

Agreed. Rubber bullets, those bean bag shotgun rounds...I could live with ppl getting shot in the arse with those for running.

Meanwhile, in my town, there are groups of 30 kids at a time on atv's playing fast and furious with impunity. Cops don't even chase them anymore.

A police officer should be a noble profession. Despite what anyone might feel aboot laws or the enforcement of there which.

But police do deal with a lot stuff people don't really recognize. They see the worst of humanity on a daily basis(in a lot of places). They see accidents and death all the time. They have to act like referees for the daily domestic disturbance calls. They have to deal with tons of a-holes, dirty scumbags and me.

However, the problem with them is they get wayyy too excited and zealous aboot BS laws. How could anyone get all worked-up and excited aboot arresting someone with a bag of dried buds from a plant? How? What kind of a-hole gets excited aboot that?

I saw one of them COP shows where the suspect threw his 5 dollar bag of crack into this hideously disgusting trash pile. I mean just disgusting. But these cops dive right in to retrieve this 5 dollar bag of rock. And they are so pleased and proud of themselves.

That's insane. Man, if I was ever a cop, I could never bring myself to arrest someone for drugs. Not because I'm kind-of a supporter of mind-altering substances, but rather...WHO CARES ??

They get caught up in this real-life game of cowboys and Indians as they chase down illegal substances. Most cops who get shot do not get shot during drug busts. So, this whole drug thing is a big game to them.

And this completely discredits the profession. A noble profession, which has it's purpose rooted in protecting and serving the community, has been relegated into nothing but a big friggin game of busting people with drugs. A adult version of Cops and Robbers

Motor vehicles are the cops biggest weapon. Pulling people over for traffic violations is a ruse used to get people for other things besides a steady source of local income.

Traffic stops are what get people with warrants caught. It allows the cops to search people and vehicles due to the joke of "probable cause." The driver appeared "nervous" which must indicate smuggled contraband.

    The cop "smelled" something...

It is time to end this War on Drugs but nobody does anything aboot it.

If you did something for a hundred years, and it actually resulted in the opposite of what was intended, wouldn't rationale people abandon this policy? Weed, dope and coke have been illegal since, like 1916, with the passing of the Harrison Narcotics Act.

100 years of arresting, fining and incarcerating drug suspects.....

    And how has that worked?

Drugs are more plentiful and potent than ever...sort of.

And child support is a joke. First of all, the women own the vagina and want their rights to abort. Well, they also should have the responsibility of making sure they don't become pregnant if they don't want a kid. Also, hey these chicks should think aboot who they are banging. Maybe they shouldn't sex dudes who are selfish jerks who wouldn't raise and support their kids.

But anyways, people who can't pay their monthly support spend their whole lives in a circle of periodic jailings when they get pulled over and have a warrant.

Then they sit in jail to their court date...if they can make some payment, they get released.....

Then it happens all over again.....

    Every year.

And the cops spend their days hunting for drugs and then hit the bar after their shift...and then drive home.

i concur but i can only give it a 9/10

it lacks a certain variety in his choice of dialog. with prose bordering the word count of zach619 i would expect a few words outside the vocabulary of the average person. throw me for a loop. send me running for a dictionary. confuse me with brilliance and drop some big seldom used references or verbiage.

get your fancy vernacular on dog.

Next time I post, Metard, I'll keep in mind my responsibility to impress you. Since you have taken on the job of critiquing my posts.

    My choice of "dialog," huh?

I'm not one who thinks he's b!tchen because he uses "big" words.

First of all, using words no one understands serves no one any purpose. Besides, this is a surf predictin' website not a literary conference. People who think they are "good writers" because they use sophisticated words are clueless. Good writing is all aboot entertainment - plain and simple.

Hey, just concentrate on your pictures, dude. They are so cute.

Pretty sure that the Border Patrol agent that was shot by drug smugglers in Arizona was killed because agents were under orders from Janet Napolitano (former Secretary of Homeland Security) to use "less lethal" ammunition.

Agent shot a beanbag, smugglers answered back with .223.

So, no...less lethal ammo probably has no business being on the table.

This guy is SC obviously had no business being shot by an overzealous (good enough for ya, Metard?) cop. But, would he have been shot if he hadn't wrestled with the cop, took his Tazer and ran off? Absolutely not.

I'm not taking anybody's side, because the cop fvcked up. But what the hell is going on with people these days? Why don't you let the cop do what he wants to do, and go on your way? What do these people think they are going to achieve by fighting cops and running away? I get hassled infrequently, but I sit there and take it and act respectful. If I swung my car door open and tried to rear naked choke a cop, what would that accomplish?

    this is terrible

resisting an unlawful order is just, some/most of these cops are straight clowns who should be no where near a gun

While I totally agree that many cops shouldn't be cops, what exactly constitutes an unlawful order? It's a Catch 22, my friend. For every claim you believe is an unlawful order, there are statutes that can be cited that give the cop the authority to stop you and talk to you.

Unlawful or not, tell me how you're gonna win that? It's just a practice in futility, amigo. Very much like banging your head against a brick wall, or trying to get RadBrad to show an iota of humility.
