At the beginning of every fiscal year, every agency and bureau has to estimate its budget. Naturally, they give a "Pie in the Sky" estimate because they don't want to fall short with the budget.

At the end of the year, a lot of that allotted budget money isn't spent. Do you believe that those agencies give the unused money back? Ha ha.

They then spend the money on "discretionary" items such as trinkets. Any additional unused money goes towards huge bonuses for managers as a reward for coming in under budget. Many managers typically underspend every fiscal year for the purpose of getting a larger bonus at the end of the fiscal year.

This is your hard earned taxes being put to work for you.

 

If you tried to take the full value of your labor, you would certainly be met with force, maybe by your employer but probably from the state.

 

actually, i get paid what the market says my skill set is worth so I can increase that by helping my company make more money or increasing my skill set to something market values more....Its not really rocket science.

If we had a perfect gov't that did not exceed the budget, then there would really be no need for bond issuance...maybe for short term stop gap measures but not 20 trillion of long term debt...and the f'n infrastructure is still jacked up.

clearly what i have taken away from this thread is that if the world would like to solve the global poverty and economic crisis, they should consult the surfing community... or rather this forum.
