    I have no additional data.
I recommend shedding cultural conditioning and exploring data and experiences on your own

what religion was jesus? He'd be appalled at institutions that claim to follow him.
its all a scam to make one subservient, loosen the purse strings, accept their lot in life, and not disrupt the status quo

Religion is what the keeps the poor from murdering the rich-Napoleon Bonaparte
its seriously like Santa Claus for 'adults'-MIS

Some people are served a poorly prepared meal at a sub-par franchise of what ideally should be a reputable chain. The experience leaves a bitter taste in their mouth, and the chain, in spite of the existence of good service elsewhere, remains the target of unrelenting condemnation.

It was a broad response on my part, not directed at you. Apologies for not being clearer.

    Damn you, SS.

Actually, religion *is* for the "weak, timid or tired". I've picked a leader: ME. I choose to be a leader, and not a follower. Why? Because "following" is for the "weak, timid or tired".

This is true. He expressed His greatest indignation towards the religious hypocrites of His day. He did not want people to be religious. Religion can be lame, especially when the individual is weak and lazy, and simply wants a set of rules to follow and does not engage their minds in their faith. He did, however call people to relationship (not religion) with God through trust in God's love, grace, and mercy which He provided.

Most of us have had a bad experience with religion. It's left us with "bad juju", if you will. Man is instinctively religious, and will set our affections and worship just about anything. Christ came to liberate people to enjoy the benefits of relating to and enjoying their creator with unabated access. Unfortunately, religion continues to lay stumbling blocks and malign this path.

So are you saying the church is the sub par franchise with bad food? If church had Moe's cater dat chit I would be in every Sunday.

I said it was 78.4% based on Pew Researches stusieds: http://religions.pewforum.org/reports and your comment about how many of them are following christ is laughable because none of you know which division of christianity could be right. What if you die and God said, "Hey Wayne the catholics were right, you needed to go to confession weekly and partake in communion every Sunday, and meeting on a beach to talk about my son and surf was a cop out, now you go to hell and burn." You got up there and a brown skin dude says, "Hello my friend how are you today? I am very very sorry but the correct answer is Muslim. You did not praise Allah, you did not kill the infidels so now you do not have salvation or 72 virgins. Thank you come again." How would you feel then?

KidRock has said he will be the leader and I will fight along side that dude any day. So are we gonna meet on the B Ball court and shoot hoops, football field, soccer pitch? Throw some horseshoes? What's the game Wayne? Or is it just an all out battle to the death on a bloddy field of vengance?

Yeah, what's with the caps, Wayne? When you're preachin' at the church of what's happenin' now, do you scream the words JESUS and CHRIST at the top of your lungs?

Not exactly. The metaphor is that some (many) have had a bad experience in a church or with "Christians". It has soured their view of Christ's life, message and ultimate purpose.

First of all Wayne, don't talk about me in the 3rd person...I'm right here. If you have something to say to me, then say it to me. So go ahead...please explain to me how "it is not about religion".

And in the unlikely event that my quotes are out of context regarding "religion"...I chose the word "religion" instead of "Jesus" or "God", because Christianity is a religion that is based on the belief of those 2 deities.

If you prefer, I will replace the word "religion" with "Jesus" or "God". Because, in its text, it really makes no difference to anybody else (with the obvious exception of *you*).

    So, to rephrase:

Actually, Jesus *is* for the "weak, timid or tired". I've picked a leader: ME. I choose to be a leader, and not a follower. Why? Because "following" is for the "weak, timid or tired".

Is that better, Wayne? Am I speaking in a tongue that you better understand? Should I try my hand at Aramaic?

    Twit.

Speaking in tongues reminds me of being drug to a large southern baptist church as a kid, about 12, and enduring hours of boredom until one sunday the pastor is giving a sermon on how speaking in tongues is the work of the devil (like everything else we do)
and this older lady stands up and loudly proclaims WRONG. You could of heard a pin drop for the next few seconds and then she starts babbling in tongue with her eyes rolling around. It was awesome!!The deacons came down to bounce her. I was hoping she would resist but unfortunately she did not. lolz On the way home my old man says "well, that took balls" and we all (kids) cracked up.

Here is something my dad told me when I started working after college. He told me to learn as much as I could about the work and to continue to seek and learn new/different tasks and projects when I completed a project or task.

He said, "After 5 years you want 5 years experience, not 1 year of experience 5 times."

I thought that was good advice. Diversify and never stop learning.

I wish wayne would shut up and go away. ain't Christian.

if I have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
if I have not love, I am nothing.
if I have not love, I gain nothing.

    love is not arrogant.
love does not insist on his own way.
    love is not irritable.

faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

    so please go away, wayne.

this is a good thread ruined because mis could not just allow me to post my response without hatefully attacking it.

no one asked if you hate my beliefs. we were asked for anything we think.
