like all rights, they are fine UNTIL they cross the line and violate somebody else's. I'm all about protesting but riots impact others who have no relationship to the issue at hand.

What does PR have to do with what occurred in Baltimore? You are mixing topics here.
Yes I am more angry about 200 murders in Baltimore last year than death of a person in police custody.
There is a rule of law which needs to be followed. An investigation needs to occur regarding what happened to Freddy Gray.
What do the peaceful protestors want? Arrests of the officers without probable cause or an investigation? Which ones? All of them, or just one? Which one then??
Why are the rioters, and the peaceful protestors, angrier about one death under police custody, when they are killing each other off in scores?
Clearly it is not the death of one man that is prompting these reactions. It is the ever running story in all of these events of blaming others (i.e. "White America") for their own culture's problems.

words from son of Balimore Orioles owner

not bad for a politically connected .1%er

“Brett, speaking only for myself, I agree with your point that the principle of peaceful, non-violent protest and the observance of the rule of law is of utmost importance in any society. MLK, Gandhi, Mandela, and all great opposition leaders throughout history have always preached this precept. Further, it is critical that in any democracy investigation must be completed and due process must be honored before any government or police members are judged responsible.

That said, my greater source of personal concern, outrage and sympathy beyond this particular case is focused neither upon one night’s property damage nor upon the acts, but is focused rather upon the past four-decade period during which an American political elite have shipped middle class and working class jobs away from Baltimore and cities and towns around the U.S. to third-world dictatorships like China and others, plunged tens of millions of good hard-working Americans into economic devastation, and then followed that action around the nation by diminishing every American’s civil rights protections in order to control an unfairly impoverished population living under an ever-declining standard of living and suffering at the butt end of an ever-more militarized and aggressive surveillance state.

The innocent working families of all backgrounds whose lives and dreams have been cut short by excessive violence, surveillance, and other abuses of the Bill of Rights by government pay the true price, an ultimate price, and one that far exceeds the importance of any kids’ game played tonight, or ever, at Camden Yards. We need to keep in mind people are suffering and dying around the U.S., and while we are thankful no one was injured at Camden Yards, there is a far bigger picture for poor Americans in Baltimore and everywhere who don’t have jobs and are losing economic civil and legal rights, and this makes inconvenience at a ball game irrelevant in light of the needless suffering government is inflicting upon ordinary Americans.”

Just speculation but it could be a possibilty.
The media needs something to give them a boner until we go to war with Iran.

Damn MIS the Baltimore Orioles owner is dead on it.

I can't speak for all the peaceful protesters stinkbug but personally I want cops to be held accountable when they abuse their power especially when people (of any race) are killed. I'm tired of the "We have investigated ourselves and found no wrong doing" schtick.

    Derek Was White.
Derek Hale, an Iraq combat veteran, joined an "outlaw motorcycle club" (OMC) called the Pagans shortly after being discharged from the Marine Corps for medical reasons. In November 2006 he was making a run from his home in Virginia to Wilmington as part of a "Toys for Tots" promotion. He was unaware of the fact that about a year earlier the Delaware State Police had opened an investigation into several members of the Pagans OMC.

Derek was not the subject of the investigation. He had no criminal record, and there were no warrants out for his arrest on the day he was murdered.

On November 6, 2006, Derek was house-sitting for a friend, who had broken up with his wife and was moving to a new apartment. Sandra Lopez, the soon-to-be ex-wife of Derek’s friend, arrived with an 11-year-old son and a 6-year-old daughter early in the afternoon to remove some personal belongings.

Derek — wearing a hooded sweatshirt — was sitting quietly on the front porch of the home when an unmarked police car and a blacked-out SUV arrived at around 4:00 PM and decanted a thugscrum of 8-14 heavily armed police. According to a half-dozen eyewitnesses, the officers were dressed in black, and displayed no police insignia of any kind.

Derek stood as the police surrounded the porch. Within a few seconds, he was hit with the first of what would be seven Taser blasts during a space of 73 seconds. According to eyewitnesses — one of whom, Howard Mixon, was threatened by the officers when he pointed out that Derek was helpless and unresisting — Hale's last words were a plea for the police to get the children to safety. Witnesses also described how Derek, who was paralyzed from the Taser assault and left wallowing in a puddle of vomit, repeatedly attempted to comply with demands to remove his hands from his pockets.

Derek was prone, unarmed, and helpless when Lt. William Brown of the Wilmington Police Department murdered him by shooting him three times at point-blank range.

good find MIS...and good point - "now that'll be 58$ for the upperdeck row 18 seat go f@ck yourself" for a franchise that sucked b@lls from the time Ripken retired, juiced up Anderson, and spitting Alomar, up until two or three years ago...

Yep. Hard to comply when you've been tasered SEVEN times and are lying in a pool of your own vomit. Point is, no one rioted or really seemed to care. The media didn't care about some "low life dirty biker"

What he said is hogwash as well.
Like I said earlier today....when is the blame versus corporations going to surface?? And there it is.
Predictable, and wrong. The evidence for his being wrong is in the fact that you have a black (actually a mulatto) president, you have another black american (a neurosurgeon) now running for Prez. And you also have a Cuban American running for President, actually, 2 of them. So his reasoning is defective, but then again, I expect nothing else from baseball logic. It is not just white elite. There is a lot more to it.

You all go with emotion, and bias. Me, on the other hand...I am perfect. <grin>

The circumstances for the use of no knock raids needs to be addressed as well. Way too many raids with disastrous consequences for small offenses. Due mainly to the failed war on drugs.

With all due respect Barry you're probably invested in the mega corporations that are bleeding us dry so I think your opinion is bought and paid for.<grin>

lol im on page 3,letss see how many replies im going to make.

as far as that whole "most of them were black" talk,u have to look at the western district.its basically 99% black,1% other.so if theres no white people to shoot, its going to be blacks.and those black people killing themselves is usually for a reason,a very stupid reason like petty beef but there not just going around shooting random black people.

as a big fan of THE WIRE lol,its basically like a new live version of it showing how phukd up b- more really is.

I did witness history yesterday.first time I ever seen looters chase away a blue armored swat truck.first time I seen 30 cop cars get pelted with bottles and keep moving.

worse thing I seen was some stupid fukin neeger stabbed a fire house while they were trying to put out a fire.thats just retarded,if I was there I would've beat the shyt out the little fuker, somebody should have.

well read most of the pages,no quotes.

ok so my take.first off, this is the reason American civilians should be allowed to have an ar-15 or equally or more powerful weapon with atleast a 30rd mag.do u think a pistol or shotgun is going to stop these maniacs?no assault rifle but a pistol, youll shoot the first 10 people, run out of bullets, get overpowered and beaten to death with your own gun.thats why u need like a 75 round drum with 10 on standby.

these hooligans are looting stores with homes above them.thats the most outrageous shyt I can think of.i could only imagine if I lived there and was on my way home from work and had to drive through roadblocks and thugs.I been waiting to see some rioters get shot.

but atleast its not as bad as the april 22,1992 riots in la.atleast theyr not ripping people out their cars and throwing bricks at their heads.im sure some of u have no idea what im talking about because u were born after the date but look it up,absolute mayhem.

and as far as the police go,there really wasn't much for them to do yesterday.in situations like that the only option is to start shooting, and u see what happens when 1 black dude is killed by the cops, they start shooting more protesters and its like dropping a tank of acetylene in the fire.
