I think most of us are done with politicians. We would welcome leaders that speak the truth and solve problems. Tell people what they need to hear, not what they want to hear.

I watched the smoke rise over D.C. during the 1968 riots; F street N. W. was the shopping mecca of the D.C. area just blocks from the rioting, those business's retreated to the suburbs never to return when the new shopping malls were built after the riots. The burned out buildings stood as monuments; now almost 50 years later history seems to be repeating itself.

Even though "firebombing" is totally accurate, I wish there was a better word, because I bet that most people who read that don't get that they literally dropped a bomb from a helicopter on a house with people in it.
