Shark Dude, you make a strong case for the expanded use of medical weed. The video was a unique approach, though. But seriously, breathe in your nose, out your mouth... Load the bong... quickly

    :p

HAHA young brotha, I think you CAN wear a ski mask in the water. That should be your new thing. Like a signature. Dude, everyone would know who you were, but not really know who the Masked Sponger is! It's brilliant, I tell ya!

    good stuff, Sheldonne.

I kinda wish he'd come back again for a short stint, just so we could pile on him again. He's the red-headed stepchild of SI.

i know I'm late to this thread but whatever, i must say two things. First, if that is shark-hunter in the video, then I've definitely seen that knuckle head bodyboarding at gansett before. He was going straight down the line on mushy 3 foot closeouts. No cutbacks, no spins just straight down the line with the most serious look on his face. It was hilarious. Second, i must thank the unwanted child for my existence on this forum. That bodyboarding vs surfing thread last year is what got me interested in joining. It showed off the true ignorance of shark hunter and i couldn't just continue reading, i had to talk to this guy. Sadly, he was banned right when i joined. ugh, what a shame...

It's unbelievable how mean everyone is on here. It's really disgusting.

So what if you like to go straight? It's fun! Tricks are just some icing on the cake. It's all about riding the wave.

You've definitely seen me in the water based on what? You can make out my face of someone you don't even know with a ski mask and glasses? LOL And I never talk to surfers in the water at gansett ever so you can't tell me you recognize my voice. Why is everyone so obsessed with seeing shark-hunter in the water? Get a life. Kind of pathetic.

Btw-...RI is not even my home break. Do I even sound like I'm from RI genius? lmao I regularly boogie board somewhere else in the northeast. So the chance of you having seen me is really low unless you travel.

My video submission of me riding is coming. It will be a video submission sponge off against seldom seen. I won't be wearing a ski mask in the water. LMAO I will simply film from a distance so you can't make out my face for safety.(crazy people on the internet) Video quality will be low just like my video below.

Here's a preview of me riding. I clipped a short section of me riding from a few years ago. 8 foot bomb set during a hurricane swell. Great swell with lots of time between sets so you could get out. I was using a 40 inch board at the time. I'm pretty much done growing now at 5 foot 8 1/2 I think so the new board I got last year and reviewed on here was also 40 inches is a perfect fit.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7oOF3gUuizg&feature=youtu.be

Video upcoming of me spinning and doing cutbacks and carves since apparently people say I can't do that. I will film that **** for my sponge off with seldom.

It takes a big man to have 10 of his closest internet "friends" pick on one person over a computer. You people disgust me.

judging from that clip, I'd say SS has this contest sewn up already.

Saw 3.9 feet at 7 seconds on the Block island buoy. Must have been waist to chest high on occasion today(Sunday). Did you score anything more than knee high mush seldom? I can see the cam. It's barely rideable, but the buoy doesn't lie? I've seen 3.9 feet at 7 seconds deliver in RI. Sometimes it delivers, sometimes it doesn't. True, who knows why. I bet nantucket got some waist to stomach high surf. Nantuck is the most consistent, but now shark infested surf on the east coast.

See....you can't trust the buoy's in RI. Learn from experience daniel-son.

Oh and another thing. On the real, RI sucks compared to NJ/NY/NC. Most of the breaks in RI are absolute mush rock reef crap that is absurdly overcrowded and require a long paddle out with current. It's also dangerous because of scattered boulders, but it's still mushy. It's longboard heaven. It sucks for sponges. That's why you mostly ride the beach breaks in RI. Clearly better for sponging. The few beach breaks you do have in RI are super fickle and most of the time close out. And the few breaks you have are TINY. Just a 1/2 block long and no room to spread out with only a few peaks. It's also tucked in and not swell exposed(thus why you can't trust a buoy)

Your break is barely 1/2 a block long. No room for people to spread out. Lucky no one is blowing it up the few times a years it turns on. Probably because it's a close out most of the time.

On top of it, you only have two breaks that are descent for sponging with a SW or W wind.(the most common wind in spring/summer and winds sometimes blow out of the west after a low passes by) And town beach is so mediocre with a tendency to close out. It's a joke compared to belmar or any descent beach break in NY/NJ. The other beach break in gansett scarborough doesn't' do that well with a strong sw wind, especiially if it's ssw. it's really wind exposed and not tucked in like town beach. It's also super fickle and some years doesn't work at all and just slams on the sand or mushes out way outside.

No comparison in quality or amount of breaks in RI to NJ if you're looking to score fast barrels. You can actually spread out further on really long beach breaks that run for miles. RI is good for longboarding. I hear people complain about crowds in NJ. It's nothing compared to RI. Visit matunuck in sept on a hurricane swell. Makes trestles or salt creek look empty. And all this knowledge is coming from YEARS ago in RI. I'm sure crowds have gotten worse. It's also WAY colder in RI obviously especially in spring and summer.

The waves at my local break today were probably pushing stomach high btw. Mushy and close outs tho because the sand has shifted. Oh well.

lol.....Well yeah I see why you could draw that conclusion. God this has been a terrible may. May is usually good. It's been like July. Every time I get depressed due to lack of waves I end up back on here posting on this stupid forum. It's like a sick addiction. Ok, I'm gone again.

Peace out biatches! And hopefully we get some descent waves and I can find someone to film me! No way I'm getting an hour of footage from, but maybe 15 minutes. I can catch waves real quick in a good chest high swell.
It will be video submission contest. I'm not in RI and I wouldn't' want to meet anyone in real life on here anyway.

Maybe some all access 24/7 sponging training videos of shark-hunter getting ready for the big event are in order as well? ;)

    Here we go again.

Have you even ever surfed Trestles or Salt Creek? No? Then how can an uninformed plebe like yourself make a judgment about either of those breaks? That's right, you can't. Just like calling Malibu a "reef", LOLZ

Until you can provide a video of yourself taking off on overhead Teahupoo or Pipe (instead of 4' closeout EC beachbreak), you don't have the right or the balls to call yourself a "hard core" anything...except maybe hardcore KOOK.

    What break?

No way gansett was that big. I saw the cam. ankle to knee high mush.(except on the high tide push it was pushing occasional waist high for 30 minutes at around 7 to 7:30am) Then it died as quick and unpredictably as it came it..

Also, check the newport surf report. Flat and wind was onshore at south facing spots anyway.

Tbh I like the fickle nature of most ri breaks. If it wasn't for mushy close outs I would have never discovered paipo and hand planes... Who cares if ri ain't worth the time of serious spongers like yourself. I'm still having fun even on the smallest of summer swells. Anyways good luck on your hardcore wave riding shark-hunter.

4 feet my ass.....You're blind if you call that swell shoulder high. It was a few feet overhead.

I can see a cam with a thousand guys out regularly. Are you saying matunuck is not crowded? Trestles and salt creek are not crowded? That's your argument? Matunuck can get even more crowded than those places on a fall/late summer hurricane swell. Everyone knows this, but you like to fight. Have fun fighting with yourself.
