Is anyone wearing a 3/2 right now? How much longer until you make the switch?

I was in a 3/2 almost two weeks ago and it's definitely doable.

I've been wearing my 5'4 all winter but thinking I can get away with just 4/3 next year--it's less rubber and more flexibilty. Yes, I will get colder in the 4/3 faster but I would rather not get so tired also. Thoughts?

Problem is I don't own a 4/3 and have to stick to 5/4 or drop down to 3/2 from here on out, but dont have hoody for 3/2 which is not good cause the water is still def cold and not even hitting 50 degress yet.

I wear a 4/3 all winter long in Monmouth County, NJ. My feet always get cold before my body does. So it's fine for me...the 4/3 is never the determining factor that makes me get out..that'd be my feet but only after 3 hours or so.

Today was fun from 8-noon. had on a 5/4/3 rip curl fireskin. 3mm gloves, hood and boots, but there was a leak somewhere and I kept getting chills.

I feel like a kook surfing in 10 extra pounds of rubber. getting tired of paddling after 2 waves, and getting tripped up cause I cant get used to boots. ....it's just BS.

water temp needs to raise about 10 degrees and I'll be happy.

    ughh 3/2?

I dont know what kind of water you guys are feeling but i was chilly this morning in a 5/4 f bomb with hood 5mm gloves and boots. And a 4/3 this afternoon at Indian River wasnt exactly toasty, so i would say we have a little time before 3/2's will be pulled off the racks.

Everyone is different my man. I have been surfing NJ in a 4/3 since mid March and my feet and hands go way before I feel a chill in the body...

Ya, by the fleece shirt with hood attachment, and you can wear that underneath your 3/2. The fleece will keep you warmer, and its almost like you are wearing a 4/2, plus you'll have a hood.

i went out this afternoon with the 3/2 to give it a shot and was perfectly fine. Granted this is a brand new 3/2 never been used (new suits always seem to work better).

Tested out 3/2 too as well and at first entering the water felt a little cold chill which I would not feel in the 5/4 but then was fine after that. Stayed in the water almost hour and half without hood, 7 mil booties, 5 mm gloves and was all good, came out only because tide was too deep and swell was gone.

Only thing, I had to duck dive 3 waves in a row and it hurt like *itch! I didn't think it was going to hurt that much but after 3 in a row..I couldnt even function with brain frozen and had to collect my self for 10 seconds or so...weird but thats what I get for not wearing a hood. Maybe other's can do it and not be as affected but it hurt for me dude--ouch.

    3/2

i went out today in a 3/2 with 3 mil gloves and 3 mil boots, no hood, i was ok for about 2 hours then i had to get out, my head felt like an ice cube. i absolutly agree that with a hood it wouldnt be as bad, cuz when i paddel out i had to duck dive 3 or 4 good ones, it was pretty painful, my feet and hands were ok in the 3 mil rubber:confused:, it was deffenetly my hoodless head that made me get out.
