    Thoughts and prayers with his family and friends. Never met him, but was definitely influenced by his progressive surfing and great sense of humor. You will be missed.

    Terrible. Too too young. Surfing wouldn't be what it is today if it weren't for guys like Shawn Barney Barron. RIP.

    yeah, all those SC locals from the 90s were heavy druggies...all types of hallucinogens, speed, alcohol, etc every weekend (at least) for over a decade. Barney developed some sort of psychosis (he called it "bipolar"), so, even if he quit everything else (doubtfully), he was then put on a bunch of prescription meds. Incredible surfer, none the less. RIP

    as far as the whole druggie thing,all I can say is look at mick jagger lol.something about the british,ozzy will outlive miley cyrus.

    barney died way too soon,its just shyt u don't expect to see.its crazy when u get older and see how many friends pass but that's life.rip shawn
