so today at noon horry county (myrtle beach) closed all their beaches with a fine of 225$ if you get caught doing "water activities"! supposedly alert stands to continue all day tomorrow. complete BS if you ask me.
its 2-4 tomorrow then 4-5 next day lmao. dont worry about that in charleston. hell they didnt close the beaches down down here during irene
high rip currents supposedly... watched the cam from work today around 10-11 looked amazing wanted to take a half day and partake tomorrow but looks like that idea is sh!t now
A simple " we advise no one to enter the waters however if you do you do so at your own risk" woulda been just fine.. But myrtles always been slightly ahem different...
I checked the news stories online. Most of them said the fine would be for swimmers. A couple mentioned a fine for water activities. Usually surfers are exempt from this rule. Is this not the case here? I've never been to Myrtle Beach. I think I may keep it that way. I guess Myrtle Beach does not have enough surfers to fight this. But maybe it's Victory at Sea right now so nobody's missing anything..
Stopped in N Myrtle last night and checked the surf on my way to Charleston. Looked kinda fun but only about chest high. Didn't surf due to injury, but I definitely would have. It had that nice end of summer, tropical windswell in South Carolina feel to it
The only time I've ever seen FB close the beach was after Hugo for a few days. Of course there were houses and docks floating in the water so it was understandable. I'm sure MB is worried fat asses from Ohio will drown and will then want to sue somebody for their own stupidity.
yea folly was a wreck after hugo..was hard to tell exactly where you were at streetwise..... looks like they are jamming again out at folly this a.m
