http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at1+shtml/175548.shtml?5-daynl#contents The current track has TS Ana emerging after landfall as a depression, and racing up northeast. I wonder if you guys in New England might see some waves.
Your statement includes the key word to whether or not we see waves (Im in NH), that is "racing". Generally if the storms take their time going by, we get 3-4 days of waves, but, if they "race" by, we get wind. Time will tell. But why are you concerned about New England; aren't you way down south where palm trees grow??
Funny how life works--my roots are where palm trees grow, and here I am in New England. Opposite to your experience. Maybe we both thought at one time in our respective lives that "the grass is greener on the other side". If so, I hope it worked out for you fantastically!!
