lol yea that's normal.its like if another person lives there and now they are considered a "local",which local is right.theres douches in every sport, every job, every school.i just hate when someone tries to give u the mean mug, staring u down like they are about to do something for no reason.regulating the break is ok to some point, but death threats and messing with peoples rides is not cool. a random kook could drop in on me and shoot his board right at my face,i would beat the shyt out of him,but I wouldn't go wax his windshield or spray paint locals only on the rocks lol.I was tempted once but thought it over before I risked going to jail over a surfing incident.it really isn't worth it
Had some teenage dude giving me the "who the f*ck are you look" last year where I've surfed for 30 odd years. Thought it was comical since he's probably surfed there for a year or 2. Sadly I can't say I was any brighter at 16. As long as you stay off my wave you can look at me any way ya want.
In my humble opinion, that is the type of situation where you get "all the other locals", and together confront the two sheet heads, and if they so much as peep an objection to your laying down the rules, they then have earned a good beating from all the other locals. Funny thing is...it actually works, and usually with no beatings; a good talking-to does the trick. Having said that, because I am getting up in years, I just laugh at the miserable arses and walk away. Not worth my time or health. Karma gets them sooner or later.
It would cost too much in beer and bud to get a mandatory local gathering to discuss the issues of the day.
I never experience any of these problems... I always just make sure to surf alone. Birds and seals are good enough company, and I do talk to them. Sometimes I bring my girlfriend, but she gets kind of bummed sitting in the sun for 10 hours. If I want a photo for when I'm 80, I just stick a waterproof Nikon in the sand, hit record, and crop it later. But let's be real, no one cares about my stupid surf photos, and I'm tired of showing them to people. When times become impossible to surf alone, I just travel further. Someday there won't be any places left. And then again, someday, every beach will be free of people.
Yea it's always those 20somethings that cause the trouble! Same thing happened to a few years ago at a local spot- where guys where surfing from the 70/80s - then these few kids move to town and act like they own the place... Lol they didn't really get away with it... Idk what ever happened, but there was no violence or anything. I actually just moved 1.5 yrs ago - a few towns south. Not much of a local presents here- but I still try to be somewhat humble when dealing with whom I suspect to be local... Until I integrate more. It really seems like a bunch of outsiders tho- which I don't mind at all... #TheBelmar #freindlyLocals #SaltLife
ha who cares there is no spot in NJ or even east coast that is that good to fight over. In the winter nobody is around and everyone gets waves and the summer its all kooks anyway. When a big swell comes the crowds thin out by 50% at least. Go out surf, be respectful, but who cares what people think about you or gaining respect among all the NJ pro's. . .im out to surf and enjoy myself and nobody will stop me
5 ways I beat localism, at home and abroad... 1) Surf good, and don't blow waves. 2) Don't paddle out day one, session one, at the best spot that's crowded with locals, and head straight for the lineup at the peak. Set up off peak, and pick off the ones that swing wide or peak on the inside. See #1 above. 3) Do get up early and do all of the above before the crowd arrives. If there's already a few locals out, yield to them, and see #1. 4) Don't be overly friendly. Be respectful, quiet, and pay attention. This applies both at your local, and when you travel. Let somebody else break the ice with conversation, if they feel compelled to. If not, keep your mouth shut and surf. That's why you're there in the first place. 5) Give waves. This, too, applies to at home and abroad. The one thing about being a local, and having a sort of "authority" in the lineup, is that you can (and I believe should) give waves away. "You want this one, brother?" goes a long way in keeping the vibe positive, maintaining respect, and minimizing the paddle battles. Everybody's got their own style and opinion, but these simple strategies have worked for me for almost 40 years, with only a handful of incidents I can remember.
clemson assclown genuflects at my name, having nothing other than Yankee to occupy his troll mind & boom! Another pants load shot by the original stalker troll, clemson assclown.
Post another video, jerk water. Then go beggin' admin & what's his name to ban me. You're turning into your passive aggressive witch cousin, MIS28. As in 28 days in between changing pads.
I find it amazing shark-hunter got the ip ban and you've been left alone with the crap you post. You seem to have a lot of problems with a lot of people on here. Seriously....try some Xanax. You NEED it. You're the worst grumpy type of surfer imaginable. Totally miserable I bet. Not a smile and ready to start a fight because you're a miserable old man. I could just imagine what you're like in the water.
You're the squirrel trying to 'jack another tread about localism & make it about Yankee. Your mommy might be listening: so keep workin' it Sigmund. Try to stay on topic, sparky. You're the wack job posting vids, screaming my name. Speaking of localism, let's stay on topic here: you were the sponger ass clown who got run out of not only the ocean, but also run out of the parking lot by locals 'cause you were running your mouf in Rody.
You stupid friggin moron. That was a post made by ri-longboarder(shark-hunters troll acount/friend you stupid ass clown). I was messing with the forum and I OWNED YOUR AZZ. Here's the original post Genius: --------------------------------------------------------------- "I don't post here. Just come for the forecast, but I had to check out this forum because I met the "sharkhunter" in person recently. He told me he was sharkhunter. Said he was "expert" on knowing where swells are going to be and he's been in the "wave game for years". First let me preface this by saying I could give a rats ass about sharks getting caught in nets at beaches or culls in Australia. I'm not some tree hugging *****. I also don't care what someone rides in the water. This is NOT about that. This is about what a complete and utter kook and nutjob this "shark-hunter" guy is. I'm a long boarder and was at my normal break mantunuck when this wacko decides to paddle out. First off...he's a midget. He's lucky if he's 5 foot 5. I'm 5 foot 11 and he's up to my shoulder. OK, so I almost never see a bodyboarder here for whatever reason. What a first experience for some of the guys out there. I've been to other breaks and seen other spongers and they were NOTHING like him. Anyway, he precedes to paddle over to deep hole with a serious look like he was paddling out in TOH and litterally drop in BLATANTLY on EVERY SINGLE wave. He's cutting off sup's/longboarders and then giving them a big physcotic smirk and saying "This peak is for spongers ONLY. GTFO to trestels where you belong. Deep hole is the fastest wave here.". Meanwhile, there's probably 15 surfers on that peak. And then when someone calls him out for his super aggro behavoir, he pulls out the "I'm going to call police if you touch me" card. He starts ranting and raving like a total madman. He definetly seemed a little out of it. I had to paddle out over to another peak. I couldn't deal with that lunatic. I'm an older guy just looking to get some exercise and have fun. He was knocking down surfers running into them while dropping in on every single set wave. Absolutely no ettiquite in the water. NEVER seen anything like it in my life. Anyway, he only lasted another 10 minutes anyway. They ran him out of there because saw some kind of minor tustle/shoving match in the water after he ON PUROPOSE pulled on a guy and pulled his legs out.(no ****...I SAW it) There was some shoving and then shark- hunter(his name is rick) swam away like a little *****. I joked it was the fastest I ever saw a guy paddle. Looked like he was swimming for his life from jaws. It looked like one surfer was holding back another from killing this midjet. Then I heard he said he's going to where' "there's real waves that you *****es can't handle" I hope he stays there and never comes back here again." ----------------------------------------------------- I saved the post on my computer because I wrote it up in word before posting. It was all a scam. It was also a scam that I'm from RI. I haven't been out there in YEARS. I'm not from RI. LOL! hahahaha
Eh? What? Could you repeat all of that, Einstein? Before you have to get up at 0400 & scrub the hallway corridors before the kids start arriving for school?
Keep whining shart snoofer: Dear yankee, You have received an infraction at Swellinfo Surf Forums. Reason: No Effing Clue
