If you can't enjoy this movie for what it is than you just don't enjoy surfing. Great movie!!!

i like the movie,,rewatching it really is dated but overall a decent flick,keanu perfect in his role..to be honest i watch the section where he is learning a few times before i went out and tried....

 

Movie was entertaining but I never really thought of it as a surf movie.

 

i'm entertained by it, i mean it's got river-od-phoenix, and fn tank girl!!!...however, with having seen the trailer now for the new one, i think the old one just went up a few bars

 

It's one of those things, it is what it is. You don't go into watching it thinking this is going to be the best movie you have ever seen. It's like Awful House, you go in knowing its crappy diner food, but it is what it is

 

I don't know if I loved it but any movie with some surf scenes is cool. I thought the part when Kiedis was amping on the bed when the feds were rushing their house was a great scene....the hot 80's chic, getting shot in the foot, and the lawn mower. The surf scenes were pretty lame though...When they try to get all Hollywood out in the line up, it seems so fake (I wonder what a non surfer's perception would be).

I give it one thumb Seldom.

 

When it came out I thought it was cool. Now it's like a cult film, so that's kind of cool. Two paws up.

 

For awhile any time a coworker found out I surfed they would always bring up point break.

 

River Phoenix?

 

He's not in it. Pier is confusing him with the young dude on Bohdi's robber crew. They kind of look alike. Checked IMDB, River was not in PB.

 

Great movie.....

Now some of you hardcore shreddahs (shreddahs number one through three) will be all, " Man, they got the surfing stuff all wrong. Like Bhodi's on a 6 foot left and then he's on a three foot right.....""

And somewhere FBI agents are saying, " Aww man that's not how we handle bank robberies and that's is NOT our protocols....."

But both these types are just missing the whole point.

However, I am not feeling the new release. YOU DO NOT TRY AND ONE-UP GARY BUSEY AND K REEVES. YOU JUST DON'T DO IT.

Dino Andino and Archy were in it playing stoned rubber people who don't shave.....

OG Point Break is fun to watch. Saw the trailer for the new one; I think it should be named Triple X 3 or 4 but definitely not Point Break
