Saw some reports on here saying today was head-high? not even close where I surfed and any of the cams I saw earlier. Either it the reports were miscalculated and/or exaggerated....or you bastards did really score!

I think today was over-hyped. I had more fun yesterday

    read the disclaimer

"Forecasted surf heights represent a potential wave face height for the average to better breaks in a region during optimal conditions (tides, wind, swell)."

If you read my comment clearly you would understand what I was talking about actually user submitted surf reports and not the "detailed surf forecast" provided by swellinfo. Did you see any detailed forecast yesterday say head-high? dont think so.

It all depends where you go out... and who is reporting of course

Absolutely, I'm just pissed I missed it if true head high waves a little more up north.

i wouldn't say head high... more like chest to shoulder consistently, only plus sets were head high. It was fun nonetheless around sunset when it got a little bigger and more organized/consistent. It was a fun day... nice sunset too!! I got up for dawn patrol this morning but i was so tired and it didn't look as good as 7 pm last night.

i agree with the dude who started this thread, there's all these total kooks coming out of the woodwork lately who haven't paddled out since october calling epic barrels on little weak swell.

there's been waves, but this past week was way smaller and weaker than anything in march and april which had real surf.

the whole reports thing is less important now with beachbreaks finally getting good, south and wind swell, smaller size and all the extra hours before or after work.

go check it yourself and you'll see the reports this time of year 'til next fall aren't all that helpful,if anything they'll often hurt.
