the golfboard ain't sh** unless you can attach a large cooler to it.
jetboard, hell yeah, I'll try it. i'll never own one though, that's wack. i would need to sell one of my kids off to afford it (and they are white, beautiful, and healthy, so do the math!).

Kind of eliminates Jet Ski's for tow-in's, ya think? And to top it off, you could punch it to escape a collapsing bowl, or blast past unmakeable sections. This thing could be a lot of trouble.

Yup, and it WILL be trouble at all of our favorite breaks eventually. Luckily, New Englanders are cheapskates, and they will be last to buy in.
It was so nice surfing Rincon PR in the 1960s as a kid. We had it all to ourselves for week at a time. And now jet boards will be zooming around all the breaks like that. tsk, tsk...glad I had the "good ol' days"!!

Barry, what I learned about real New Englanders during my limited interactions (and not people from Boston and larger suburbs etc) is that they are some resourceful f***ers. I'm talking about local folk from Maine, New Hampshah, Vermont. They maintain their old houses, they like to build their own stuff, and they are frugal. They're not cheap, they just live simply and don't waste. They build woodsheds and widdle wood. They would probably frown at a jetboard, and opt to paddle a canoe dug out by hand from a single log or something. Or instead of golfboarding they would actually WALK 18 holes (the thought).

Laird does it... And all the sudden everyone is riding a wave - jet.

    What's next.... A pink scooter?

Well... It does look kinda fun, maybe I should get one...

Hey guys- you think laird reads these posts on the Internet?

This is true--and I must say, after living here for 46 years I have become that. And maybe I should have used the word "frugal" instead of "cheap", but......what fun is there in that?? After all, I do like to needle my brethren!! As many of you have observed.......trolling can be fun!!

Go to work, save some money, invest it, and you too can be like me!!!
As for ego, just because the Universe revolves around me, doesn't mean I have a big ego.......

    whhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat
that's fphucking awesome!!! lol.I wouldn't categorize something like that with surfing, but its like riding a dirtbike on water,or a scooter lol.

idk why everyone hates on laird lol,I guess I can see why,but he is a legend in the big wave world.now everybody is paddling jaws when its 20ft with inflatable wetsuits and 20 jetskis, laird, derrick doerner, and others were towing into jaws 25 years ago on the back of boats, without safety vests in 80 ft waves.one video clip that always stuck out to me and gained my respect was when he airdropped like 15 feet and landed like a god and kept riding.
