It might be b/c of the number of white folks versus muslim folks in the US...not really an accurate comparison...apples and oranges (or more like red apples and green apples...or white rice versus brown rice).

There are some serious social issues in America. The Homegrown Jihadi being a relatively new phenomenon while white and black tensions have been stewing for centuries to evolve into the America we have today.

Racism is at the heart of the matter. I think most of it comes from black folks who perpetuate the notion that they are entitled to get paid back (which may be valid to a certain extent) and white folks who feel like the entitlements have gotten way out of hand (at what point are all citizens responsible for themselves...if of able body). I would call that general racism. The fringe groups like white supremacist are racist on steroids full of the worst kind of hate. There are black fringe groups too.
