It's crazy. TV Land won't air a classic TV show because some people disapprove of a flag painted on the roof but the White House can be lit up like a f@ggy ass rainbow to honor the gay/lesbian flag after the supreme court decides gay marriage is legal?

Yeah, man that sucks. What really sucks is I didn't know The Duke boys was even on TVLand. I'd have checked that out...see if the magic is still there. You know how it is with them old shows you used to like. Some still work and some don't.

I stayed out of this Chucktown and flag thing. But this is taking it a bit too far.

The Dukes of Hazzard is an American institution. They're just good ol' boys never meaning NO HARM. Shoot, they even had an African American character, Sheriff Little of Chickasaw County. He was efficient, unlike the white police in Hazzard county. See, what a grand statement back in the 70's and early 80's.

R-Carted, we'll make a new series The Queens of Brooklyn, in which a pair of ex-meth runners, get in to tangles with local law enforcement looking to bust 'em. Of course they will drive a Prius with a rainbow flag on the car. You guys can name the car.

The key word is "some" people. Supposedly acts of Islamic terrorism do not represent all Muslims, ridiculously high crime and murder rates in the cities is not representative of the black community as a whole but the act of one deranged moron represents all southerners. That and a flag that holds no more power than the power given it by people that have been told they are victims for the last 40 years. I guarantee you that the confederate flag does not represent racism to the majority of people. It represents defiance of an out of control federal government. Sounds like that flag is exactly what we all need right now.

Keep that flag and hold it as a symbol of a new rebellion against political correctness and the insanity that is being pushed down our throats. I'm convinced that the vast majority of people are against all of this garbage but the media and the left sees it in their interest to push it to the front of the line. They are trying to scare people from speaking out so that they can't organize against it. Don't be fooled, it's a tactic that has been used for centuries. Fight back, speak your mind, be a rebel, be an American.

    Exactly.
One of my new neighbors in PA is gay. and black. I mean he is REALLY gay, like Lamar from Revenge of the Nerds gay. Nice guy. He admitted that he was "scared and a little worried" when he saw me moving in and when I hoisted the Battle Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia (alongside the Stars and Stripes). I told him I'm all for people marrying whoever the hell they want, just keep it off my wave. I told I fly that flag simply because I know it pisses people off and it stands for giving a giant middle finger to the man. He thought that was cool and is similar to him flying the rainbow flag as a symbol for giving a giant middle finger to people who don't think Fruits like him can't marry other Fruits. So, just to f@ck with everyone, we both decided that we are both going to fly a Rebel Battle flag and a rainbow flag from our respective houses. I'm getting him a battle flag, he is getting me the Fruit flag.
Can you imagine a gay people flag next to the Confederate Battle flag??? People's head's will explode in confusion.

Zippy, when a white boy kills blacks in the name of racial hatred it take son a different paradigm. Yeah, blacks weren't treated too well in this country for "400 years" ( I heard NWA say that).

So, the authorities have to act somehow or it looks like nobody cares aboot "black lives."

Attacking a flag is a convenient way to look responsive.

Oh come off it y'all. You know racism exists. And we all know the south's history and some of that "history" still exists. Hey, I saw dudes still fighting the Civil War even in the transplant Outer Banks.

Maybe the flag means something to one person and it means something entirely different to others.

Come now, we all know that the Confederate flag represents an "Attitude."

Heritage? Wll yeah, the south's heritage is based on slavery and racism. Right, right, y'all like wandering through the woods and killing varmits.....That's what the flag represents. Right.......rural life.....

    Nah it don't.

I could care less aboot flags. They are just cotton or hemp. Hemp !! No way....

    And you know...

yeah there's plenty of racism in the north.

And our northern founding fathers didn't think non-whites were equal.

But they didn't succeed from the union and base their economic system upon slavery.

States rights are irrelevant when it comes to enslaving a people based on preconceived notions aboot their relevance based upon skin color.

Someone sent me this article last week. I think there is some validity to this look back at our society. I am not racist and generally get along with most. But, there is a problem that has never been solved and removing the flag will solve nothing. Frankly, it will probably cause more harm than good. I am not posting this to offend anyone but I think it's a legit point of view. I did not include credit since it seems that it has changed and was originally circulated online under a different author.

...well after all that it was too many characters to copy and paste so I found this link.

come on now. There was slaves in the north and south. The civil war wasn't about slavery. Yes, that's what has been fed to people since grammer school in the federal government's history books. Try picking up books with the facts around civil war and secession. I think we need another civil war against the federal government which doesn't provide anything. They just take and take. Now, local towns, your taxes actually pay for things. Federal taxes pay to take care of others and provide more wealth to the wealthy.

Ok, Liam, tell us what the Civil War was REALLY aboot and please DO NOT say States' Rights.

Slavery in the north, after what year?

Oh Liam, you got a attitude problem lately, stop contradicting me.

Oh and what books meet your approval on the Civil War? Let us know so we can be as informed as you are.

Remember let us know what the Civil War was really aboot. I look forward to it. And to save you time, make sure none of your responsible issues can be traced back to slavery, directly or indirectly.

And us paying federal taxes doesn't make the wealthy more wealthy. Republican tax breaks do that, as far as taxes are concerned.

Liam join MIS in his fight against taxes and the federal government. You may have to do some prison time but you may come out a hero. People(college hippies) might wear your image on T-Shirts with their Nikes and Levis.

MIS, that was not an insult to you. Just trying to recruit, man. Just trying to recruit.

    Ok no fed....

so every state makes their own laws with no centralizing entity.

Hey how come people in the south get to mate with 13-year-olds......

Hey how come the next state over decriminalized PCP?

    Why them and not us?

Hey how come my trash hasn't been picked-up?

Hey black guys are robbing my house, where's the police. Well, I got my gun...oops they got guns too. I'm outnumbered.

Hey I'm lost in the woods climbing rocks, how come no one is looking for me?

Hey my meat is bad and my poultry is tainted. What, no inspections?

Hey this Tylenol isn't working on my headache from the bad food.

What's going on here to my world !!!!

Riley here is a bit o history on Jersy and slaves:

    http://slavenorth.com/newjersey.htm

(below is a snipit from the page)

Furthermore, New Jersey slaveowners had the option to sell their human
property into states that still allowed slaveholding, or into long indentures in
Pennsylvania, until an 1818 law that forbid "the exportation of slaves or
    servants of color."

New Jersey, like other northern states, replaced outright slavery with
stricter controls of free blacks. Black voters were disenfranchsed by an 1807
state law that limited the franchise to "free, white male" citizens.

In 1830, of the 3,568 Northern blacks who remained slaves, more than
two-thirds were in New Jersey. The institution was rapidly declining in the
1830s, but not until 1846 was slavery permanently abolished. At the start of the
Civil War, New Jersey citizens owned 18 "apprentices for life" (the federal
census listed them as "slaves") -- legal slaves by any name.
"New Jersey's emancipation law carefully protected existing property
rights. No one lost a single slave, and the right to the services of young
Negroes was fully protected. Moreover, the courts ruled that the right was a
'species of property,' transferable 'from one citizen to another like other
    personal property.' "[10]
    Thus "New Jersey retained slaveholding
without technically remaining a slave state.
