If anything the dukes did more to soften the rebel flag than any other program in history; the fact that the fact that is a satire on southern law enforcement has completely eluded tvland mgmt

Well I tried to post the best pic of Daisy and it just put a link. How do you put a pic from the net into a reply so it shows up to the thread within my post?

This is probably the most sensible statement on this entire thread.

The only readings, opinions, and politics that I have ever agreed with were writings from native Americans and Edward abbey.

I read a ton of news in my free time from both conservative and progressive sources and I chuckle/think the world we live in is just a citcom for some other life form.

The worlds a silly place and when it come down to it why waste your whole existence taking sides. Tvland are a bunch of pu$$ies, blacks whites and all other races are way to sensitive. Govt handouts, welfare, and poverty are all fabricated scenarios where humans ventured off the life cycle and forgot how to exist like every other creature ever.

they have completely blew this confederate flag thing through the roof,i seriously don't get it!!!

kkk can hang a bunch of negros 50 yrs ago and leave a confed flag on the doorstep of the victim,no problem.

some dumbazz shoots up a black church, and posted a picture holding a confederate flag, now we ban them all.

I hope the next shooter holds up a giants flag so we can ban that too.

im from the north, furthest thing from a confederate lol,I have no problem with the flag,i think it looks cool.i don't see the racism from it.segregation is long over.but to ban it,kick tv shows off air,is just metarded.

ill tell u what youll never see on my front lawn,a rainbow flag

KIDROCK YOU THINK THIS GUY MAKE SENSE? And I thought you were pretty sharp.

    Ok here we go...

How are THE LEFT responsible for the South Carolina flag issue? Be specific and precise. Facts not opinions. Umm that's more of a southern black thing vs the white authorities. Do leftists groups get involved. Sure, but they didn't start the hoopla.

Please provide examples of how the left forces you to "(Their) Way or the Highway." Please give us examples of how you have been forced to do things by leftists. Please be Pacific and detailed

Also please offer other examples of the distress this country is facing due to the left.....I'm dying to hear this.

Please also bolster your "argument" by illustrating examples of how the right wing has allowed all of us to do whatever we want and promotes "Liberty, Freedom of Expression and Choice."

If you do some searching, Right Wing policy usually is aboot prohibition (I'm not talking aboot just drugs using the term "Prohibition") and jail terms.

    Freedom of expression?

You are blaming the Left for limiting Freedom of Expression?. Are you mad? I can't even begin to address this one.

Mean while this guy's grandpa is on Social Security. His dad's on Medicare. And our right wing hero is collecting unemployment insurance, which were all republican ideas. Ahhhh, his grandpa was forced to live on Social Security by band of wayward liberals.

Choice? Ain't the Right against b!tches making The Choice?

This guy has me all confused.

sorry for all the pixels. this was an obscure thing to find. i think it was transferred from betamax, to VHS, to a camcorder filming a TV, and finally uploaded to youtube.

you've got to be taught to hate and fear
you've got to be taught from year to year
it's got to be drummed in your dear little ear

you've got to be carefully taught
you've got to be carefully taught

    you've got to be taught
    before it's too late

    before you are six
    or seven or eight

    to hate all the people
    your relatives hate

you've got to be carefully taught
you've got to be carefully taught

This is correct. Slavery was a key reason for secession. It has been a part of history that somehow got softened after a confederacy reunion in the late 1800's (see Richmond, VA). It wasn't a state's rights issue, because many northern states were harboring escaped slaves. The south didn't like the fact that the federal government wasn't upholding the law and forcing these states to recognize slave ownership. I also agree that we, as a society, have evolved a lot since those days. It is hard to judge people back then based on current standards and norms. However, the battle flag (which is the flag in question), is a relic of an uncivilized and violent time in American history. I don't agree that it should be the main focus of the massacre that happened in my town, but I also think it is past due for removal from our statehouse grounds. Flying that flag shortly after the civil war was technically considered treason.
In regards to the Duke boys, removing the show is completely silly. It is tv history, even though it is a work of fiction. The flag on top of their car serves no symbolic purpose, other than to show typical styles and norms in the south during that era.
