My humble .02...

A flag is a symbol. So it means whatever people think it means. To some the Stars and Bars is a symbol of state's rights. To some it's a symbol of oppression. To other's it's just a piece of history and heritage. And they are all correct, because it's symbol.

As far as what fly's on guvmint property...Federal property should be flying the US flag. State property should fly the US and\or state flag. I'm a proud Southerner, but we lost, and like it or not we are a part of the United States of America.

On private property, people should be free to fly whatever flag they want. Fly a rainbow flag, fly the confederate flag, etc...

Hell I think if it's your property you should be able to fly a Nazi flag or the hammer and sickle if you want. Your property, your right. And I should be fully within my rights to to tell you what a dumb c)nt you are for believing in those horsesheet ideologies.

Constitution doesn't say you have the right to not be offended. And neither do I. Toughen up cupcake.

Of course all this biz about taking down the flag is just misdirection. The a$$hat Dylan Roofs of the world won't suddenly see the light and stop being a racist prick. If anything they will just see it as "proof" that they are "right".

And while all this is and the whole gay marriage thing is going on Congress is figuring out more ways to ship our jobs overseas.
