Mays Landing? Dude if he's going to drive the 20 + minutes to Hammy to work...... If he don't mind driving to work...... West bound on RT 30 will open you up to Berlin, NJ, which is a decent, sleepy but commercially active area that should have affordable rent. Further down Rt 30 it gets more shady and sh!t. Dope and minorities, man. Lindenwold is awesome. Lots of affordable apartments but probably drug active. At Rt 30, as you enter Berlin, one could take RT 73 which will pass through Berlin too, but further down it opens up to some really respectable areas of South Jersey...Voorhees...Marlton.....which are only a 20-30 minute drive to Hammy. Try Atco.....yeah have him check out Atco. Quick drive down Rt 30 to Hammy. Nice quiet area. They got a ghost too. The Atco Ghost. Mays Landing is another strange place. Not violent. Not really crimey, but lots of dopers around and some minority element that lives in Mays Landing but is all "Atlantic City/Pleasantville." Lots of dudes down here adopt the inner city thug lifestyle no matter where they live. Historic place. It's got rivers and connects to the intercoastal waterways. It's also the county seat so all the superior and other courts are there...the county jail.....But plenty of quiet streets and all. It's cool enough. Just avoid the Mizpah section(run down, slightly hood).
Just a lil' heads-up aboot the current state of South Jersey. It's kind of two areas. The Philly metro region(Camden, Burlington and Glouster Counties) are more cosmopolitan. More White collar, nice suburban........ The rest of South Jersey is like mixing Philly with Alabama. These are generalizations of course. But the aura of the Cherry Hill-area is much different than the aura in the Atlantic County area. But like all Jersey, every town has it's own character. This isn't Northern Virginia where everywhere is the same.
he needs to be in atlantic county for the $5,000 relocation money, and as near the Hammonton Kramer beverage as possible, in a place not overly expensive where his thousands of dollars worth of electronics office equipment won't get stolen the minute he leaves the house.
Ah Atlantic County only. Well he needs to keep his electronics a secret. Burglaries happen in Hammonton. But anywhere in Hammonton is ok. It ain't North Philly. Or even Bridesburg, Jawn Doeski's favorite neighborhood. There's other apartments in Hammonton, but I'd figure I'd tell you aboot the best ones on Fairview. I'll keep my mind open for suggestions. Hey, y'all should drive on down soon and have a looky around. You ain't that far away. I'll check local real estate stuff for you. And just for demographics....how old is he? He sober? He a doper? He drink? He single? He surf?
No doubt Hanna, no doubt. I think there hasn't been a shooting since the early 90's. And we had just driven through there to catch the 4PM ferry to Southport. I hope alcohol wasn't involved in the death. Her family and friends will be suffering enough. Hopefully it was just a freak accident so no one can try to "blame" her for it in any way. But yeah, kinda strange for someone to just fall and smack their head like that. Hopefully the only events in the foreseeable future for CB\KB will be some epic swell. I will say, the N end is much nicer now that they've brought some sanity to it. We had two groups of friends camp out Sat night and other than the heat they said it was fine. No idiots whooping it up all night long. And looks like there's a lot less trash and such on the beach this year. Good luck, hope you get some good waves soon.

Took yesterday off work, but am back today. I may run after work, then hope to be surfing again in a couple days.
Oh, it do be a gut stopper!! Dead in its tracts; takes a day or two to get going again. It is THE principal reason I will never touch the crap again, I don't care how much I be hurting. Anyway, hope you get over the sting. Them things can really suck, big time.
riley I always considered south jersey ocean county and below.i never surfed past cedar grove.been to ac once,and got banished by the mayor,true story lol.when we was younger,we had this job,company is called "amazing amusements",we would set up those inflatable balloon rides or whatever the phuk they are called and babysit the little kiddies riding them.so we got kicked out when my brother started reselling the tickets for the ride,4 for a dollar,when it was like 3 tickets for 5 bucks.he got caught and the mayor was there and he told him to fuk off,so somehow we both got fired and had to wait in the work truck the whole day.and he wasn't the only one reselling tickets,hes just the only one that got caught,and he had no idea who the mayor was.this was probably like 15 yrs ago or so.never went bak to ac after that
thanks again Riley, yeah we did drive out and saw it just like you said, my post on the previous page describes the trip, and we connected with realty, chamber of commerce and website people, checked out a few places but nothing hit home for sure yet. we liked the mays landing place but the cameras and curfew signs everywhere in the development sketched us out. he's 24. working selling beer to all south jersey out of Hammonton, so I hope he's not fat, drunk and stupid, that's no way to go through life, but I know he likes beer. he used to be a beautiful surfer and loves the water but he hasn't surfed for some time. like the jersey shore beachbreak version of greg noll, whatever that is. i'm his dad, so I hope he's not into drugs, but if he is he keeps it from me. he's just a fun guy with a great sense of humor who can look at the world and laugh.
