Si: PR in April 2014. Haven't been to Puerto Escondido. There's a few guys who post on here who are PR experts.

Panama is of course Central America but different then the others. The Azores is pretty amazing. I was just recently looking at Mozambique but decided on a Taiwan trip, going next month (can't wait to get the hell away from here) into the beginning of September. You also mentioned Morocco, you should definitely do that one day but wait until early winter.

NicaFiend has a wealth of off-the-beaten-track surf trekkin' under his leash, Blasters - - he's a good go-to.

How was Chicama? Think you mentioned in the past you'd been.

And the Azores: friend of mine lives in Spain & surfs there, he says it's pretty good, always an open invitation for me to go over & surf there. Your take on the Azores would be great to hear.

The best thing about the Azores is the island (Sao Miguel) is pretty small. Well I take that back a little bit, it's a long island east to west but very short north to south where most of the waves I surfed were. So if the wind were to change or swell was coming from a different direction you could easily travel between the two main surfing beaches. I scored just an average swell while I was there but the waves were really powerful for the size, especially at Santa Barbara, which was where I surfed the most. We drove the whole island and there is definitely surf to be found everywhere though. Hands down the Azores is the most beautiful place I've ever been. The hiking is really good, it's pretty cheap and the surf wasn't too crowded....GO!
