2001 Jeep Cherokee. Parts are cheap, and motor is bullet proof. All these people saying "don't buy something thats going to break" are big old puss balls.

I bought a 2001 jeep cherokee when i was 16 and now i know how to rebuild and drop a motor in a vehicle, remove torque converter & flex plate, remove and replace steering gear and pump, change cam and crank shaft position sensors change throttle position sensors, replace u-joints, install lift kits.

Buy something that you will learn something from... again parts are typically really cheap for these things and more available than any other make out there.

Pick one up for 3000 put a lift and some 35 bfg at's on it, and just wait for the girls to start giving you road dome... because not only do you drive a sick jeep... you actually know how to fix cars which girls also think is sexy.

    Your welcome.

p.s. i have one for sale in Maryland - 1500 takes her.

Not that it sounds like you're going to be interested at all, but I'm selling a 2006 fully loaded Chevy trailblazer. I'm moving to dubai in a few weeks so naturally having a car here won't be doing me any good. 84k miles. Asking 5k.

I recommend a lite truck, chevy S-10/ Colorado, Tacoma, ford ranger, ect. My first vehicle was a 4-cylinder chevy S-10 two seat with stick shift. the truck was so lite it probably got 40 mpg because the manual transmission helps with the mileage. I kept that one through college. Had no problem carrying around all my work ****, surfboards, college stuff (kegs), and if you have more than one passenger you throw everyone in the back, but you will soon learn that driving the car pool is a pain in the ass. If you don't get four wheel drive just put about 250 lbs (sandbags) over the rear axle and that's just as good in the snow as long as your not going through knee deep powder. 10 grand should get you a pretty nice nice starter pick-up. good luck.

Get a GTI - Not bad on gas. The Turbo feel is nice and can always go bigger turbo setup for more power later on. There are tons of forums with step-by-step DIYs for most anything needed to be fixed, cheap parts, and free vag-com software that you can use your laptop to determine fault codes and tune or anything really that is going on with the car. Either that or get a Audi Wagon --

don't sound bad at all,i just don't have the cash now.my car isn't that bad, like it is lol,but idk.I had the exact same car and it lived to 275k miles before it kicked the bucket.i got the same car now,1 year newer with 116k miles but it smokes when I get stopped at a redlight, doesn't overheat, the car was in an accident before I bought it and the hood doesn't sit flush with the body so I think its moisture or something and it drips on the exhaust and causes smoke.everytime I have somebody look at it,it doesn't want to smoke.mostly in the mornings with that morning dew on the car.my ac worked last year, not this year lol,and its been in the 90s like almost every single day this summer.other than that everything works fine
