    That's a shark, a whale shark. Not a whale.
That thing probably fed a thousand people in the village
Sad the poor creature met it's end like that though
Many Asian countries would eat the last fish, shark, whale or dolphin in the ocean if they could
Zero respect for ecology, very little education or knowledge of natures balance.

About 600 Whale Sharks a year are processed in ONE factory in China. This is a completely unsustainable harvest level of a very slow to reproduce species. = Bad news.

Concur with that, but it's not just Asian countries. We're guilty of it too. Much of it due to greed and waste.

The Chinese will use every particle of that and every other critter they catch. Then reuse it and sell it to us.

We would use the prime parts and throw the rest away rather than let someone that could use it have it.

Not really. The US has some of the most restrictive fishery management regulations in the world. We don't kill whales and porpoise either. Most species of sharks are federally protected in US waters as well.

You guys need to get off the 'blame America' band wagon. Typically misled bleeding heart blame America sentiments.
Asian countries are almost entirely responsible for the demise of sharks around the world based on their lust for shark fin soup. They illegally fish around the world, often in protected marine sanctuaries. It's rampant off central America including Costa Rica and Nicaragua. These aren't American fishing vessels illegally fishing for sharks.
Many of the waters around Asian countries have been completely fished out so they look elsewhere.
600 whale sharks a year in one factory in China? Please explain how that has anything to do with America.
Does Dolphin Cove where they slaughter thousands of dolphins every year in the name of "custom" happen in Florida??
And of course, Japan continues to be one of the lone countries killing whales in the name of scientific research, while the Japanese eat whale meat in fine restaurants.

The point is about the wasted food we throw away rather than give to the needy. Try not to be a RepugniTard.

We owe them too much money. Who do you think paid for our wars? Thank W for making Hop Sing our landlord.
