I would think you would need it to be wider across the front of the board

I think it's a waste of time, but... If you decide to do it:

Use a carpenter's square to make a perpendicular line from rail to rail on the bottom of the board.

Clamp a piece of rigid foam to the bottom of the board so it' acts like a jig so you can...

Run a circular saw across the bottom of the board, cutting off the part you want. But before you do...

Tilt the base plate so it sets the saw blade at an angle to give you a bevel cut. (You want the bottom of the board longer than the deck.)

Slightly round the edges with a sanding block, spackle to seal the exposed foam... glass, sand, hotcoat.

PS... I've cut boards in half many times with a circular saw. Use a fine tooth blade and you'll get a very clean cut and no delam.

That board brings back some memories. First one I ever owned 11 years ago.

    thanks Lb
    1. why do u thinks its a waste of time(my thinking is with that much foam in the back end and middle it should float pretty good..)

    2. what do you do with the ones you cut in half?

    3. down here we use hand hacksaws still...keeps the muscles big

I just think you should keep it as a surfboard... it's not snapped, delammed, or beat to sh!t, so why destroy it? Make a real one from a real blank... even a stripped board that's shot might have a core decent enough to re-purpose into a paipo.

I've cut boards in half for restaurants... Once time I built this guy 6 brand new longboards... then just cut them in two. If I didn't make some decent coin doing it, it would have killed me.

If anything, that free board you got is the one you should be ripping apart to experiment with.

Yeah, that Fartknocker looks fun and that price is good
