My retirement account lost about 10% of its value since Friday. Hoping it comes back.

 

It will but it will take a couple of months; real recovery will not start until mid-October. August and July are historically crappy months for markets.

 

China threw the world a bone this morning with an interest rate announcement. Yesterday, nobody knew what was going on except that the growth rate in China, along with their currency manipulation was suspect....and it was shaking the whole global market place. China's effect on the commodity markets alone has created downward pressure on Global equities. I am certainly glad to see a nice pull back, to pick off some stocks with real fundamentals for the Long but to act like this was no big thing is naïve. One thing Trumpology is identifying and the last week confirms is that China poses some serious risk to our country (though I don't think I could vote that guy).

For the most part, I think the US will continue to grow despite China's shenanigans and I don't think the sky is falling. But, you are either day trading this volatility or adding to positions during these pull backs (which there will be more of). Let's see were the market closes today....

Yank, I like NVO call (don't own it...been playing CELG in that space). I need to see the Spieth effect on UA for a quarter or two before I add to that position.
