How do you guys like it? Can you recommend some good neighborhoods? How's the quality of life and the school systems?
Don't come here unless you like to pay through the nose for real estate, no jobs, surf zones, leash laws and getting bum-raped on taxes. If you don't care about those five factors, and you still want to come here and enjoy our beautiful weather and rubber neck the chicks on the loop then check out Monteray Heights or Jurvey. Those are great, gun-loving neighborhoods right in the heart of great school districts.
Thanks for the info. From those issues you mentioned, it sounds like NJ. The big difference is that we still have jobs around here. I will make a note of those neighborhoods though.
As bad as those five factors sound thats not all of them. There are so many #@$%&ing tourists in the tourist season. I ran over about 4 last year unintentionally. Parking is an issue, lots of illegal aliens come here (there's about 20 in my middle school). The thing about education is also an issue. Teachers are brainwashing our students politically, our govenor stole out of the state education lottery to pay for things other than education such as dept she's in for pissing money away. Lifeguards try to get surfers out of the water for every tiny rip current or little shark swimming around minding his own business (the lifeguards are not allowed to force us to get out of the water, they can only advise people). I would go on and on with the subject, but im getting tired of typing. Bottom line is its not as good as it sounds and it pisses me off
What middle school are you at? Yeah, after all the positive reviews on this thread I'm sure people would be coming in droves. Unlike this thread would lead you to believe, there are some positives about living here, great temperate climate, nice historic/riverfront downtown, easy accessibility to the beach, occasional fun swells. It's not paradise by any means, but I certainly wouldn't say it's the worst place, everywhere has its flaws. As for the surfzone/leashlaw/parking/crowd issues; the wind is up on most days by 10ish to kill it and before then none of those things are even an issue.
I go to murray middle school, my brother is in 2nd grade at carolina beach elementary and his teachers are completely bias about everything they teach. One day my brother came home saying that his teacher told him that Obama is good because he gives people free stuff. WRONG. We contacted the administration at the school concerning this and we havent heard back or seen any changes for 2 weeks now.
