Just moved here from Florida. What do you guys think Erika is going to do? Hoping she sweeps up the coast, intensifies hugging the coastline and pumping in big waves with sunny days and offshore winds. Haven't had a good hurricane swell in years

    Assateague

I haven't surfed north Assateaque in years, since the 80's.
It was by far one of the best wave in the Del Mar Va area when there is a hurricane swell.
A perfect aframe left off the jetty. Goofy foot city!
    Get a boat and go!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think theres a jetty in Assateague. Surfed there a few times. You don't need a boat either just cross the bridge south of Ocean City

OCMD in town has been poopy and breaking right on the shore. It needs a storm to spread out the sand. I just got back from a long weekend there and had to resort to the standup boog to get some.

Assateague is great if there is a storm but on a regular day it has less power than in town...better for a longboard though (longer beach). If a storm comes up, I would head there. Good luck.

I have. Did not work out well. Had the coast guard called on me and my friends as the current pulled us under the rt 50 bridge. Good times.
