So as I mentioned I'd be surfing some this week. Yesterday paddled out to a spot that was total junk but everywhere looked bad. 1 guy out. I know where you think this is going... but just bear with me...
Im on a longboard and at a spot that has a very strong drift off the point, the longboard works better there. so I paddle out and say hi to the guy in the water, who is on a banged up looking hayden shape shred sledd. guy says hi. I asked him how has the spot been working since hes been out... and he responds by saying that he is here visiting his friend.... Um ok.

So I follow up with a - so where are you from? this guy responds that he's from manhattan, and that he is here visiting a friend, parking at his house. Okay that's cool I say..
anyways I catch a wave. ripit... the usual. and on my way back out I notice this guy is getting swept away from the point. and he yells to me that its tuff to paddle. So I yell back to him "Get Out and Walk back!" Not sure if he heard me so I yell again (only to make sure he hears me) "Hey Get out and walk" and I'm pointing back towards the other side of the rock jetti.

So this guy gets out of the water.... and leaves! now I can't be sure he left because he thought I told him to "walk" or he just had decided it wasn't working for him.

anyways I figured people might find the situation kinda funny. I really hope the guy didn't think I was trying to clear him out..... okay start the hating.

lol no offense mr sharthufferpitted, but I hate people who try to spark up conversations in the line up.a few words here and there ,no problem, but getting into a full blown conversation and theres sets coming,u better stfu and start paddling.

sheit niegar if someone hooted me out the water,im gonna do like the Hawaiians did to rabbit in Huntington.get out, call ur yellow fuzzy peeps, and stand from one end of the beach to the next.clear the water.u don't come out,we're coming in.

but I don't see the agro-ness for 2 people in the water.if guys want to drop in one u,il paddle 20ft to the west and have my own peak.thats Howie do-et in the durty huersey

Brad, people react to you very badly. May I suggest an Emily Post course in Manners and Etiquette?? Might help you as you go through life. Who knows, if you throw a "formal dinner" someone may even show up!!
