Wave season in the dirty souff has arrived, finally! It's chest to shoulder high, lined up, with bigger peaks at some key spots in J****r. It's supposed to be bigger and cleaner tomorrow. Long, long rides, not too crowded, even though the kids were off school today. Probably because it was consistent with 3 to 4 wave sets every 3 minutes or so. I've surfed 10 of the last 23 days, a huge change from the last 4 months. Today was the best waves I've surfed since May.

Supposed to be 1-2 now and 2+ tomorrow. Doesn't look like it. I think this swell will abandonne us down here as they so often do. I'll get on it if it shows but probably have to wait for the weekend when I can ride upcoast.

There would be rideable waves here, if not for that bad, bad NNE wind. Looks like it's gonna be longshore current /drift all week.

Looks a bit messy out there on the cams, but my friend, a non-surfer, posted a beach shot from his afternoon run. Looked clean where he was at. SC isn't really getting the juice, due to swell direction.

This storm is doing nothing good in Maryland. Hard onshores for 7 days plus, cutting the summer bars and bringing the beach and surf back to a winter profile.

Bigger here this week but choppy, disorganized, and blown out. Sections of Dam Neck beach flooded to the dunes this afternoon. Has gotten really dirty looking too. Globs of greenish-brown foam blowing all over the place. I'll wait. Glad I made it out Sunday morning.

Turns out a secret spot that only breaks a couple times a year was working well yesterday. Chest high, semi-clean, and very hollow. I got worked pretty hard, as I haven't seen fast hollow waves for months.

Got some yesterday morning, very exciting, scary rides :) everyone was on it, but it was a very well behaved crowd, plenty for everyone.

Just got back. Chest high plus sets, fairly clean but the lines had a good warble in them making it sectiony. So instead of the LB the fish was the call. Lots of vertical off the lip/floaters/cutbacks off the closeout sections, that way you could get back into the reform and connect to the inside. Lots of fun, but crowded at the peak. I checked a few other spots, but the most crowded one looked to be the most fun. It was for me. Ended the session with a long smooth shoulder high right, lots of speed and a few drawn out off the lips to gain more speed, it died out on the inside, then a sneaker came in, got that to the beach. Life is good.
