i bought a 200$ 3/2 last year got 100% off. but behold to big holes in it because i left in my car, cant just throw away a bran new so whats the best wetsuite repair that has worked for yall. oh btw i dont look up old threads because im a doosh and idgaf. its the absolute worse when a new suiteee gets wreaked.
I have been using this stuff- liquid electrical tape from homecheapo http://m.homedepot.com/p/Gardner-Bender-4-fl-oz-Liquid-Electrical-Tape-Black-LTB-400/100119178/ It works ok- in a pinch but not as well as the wetsuite contact cement. This stuff does work great for making that liquid seal/tape on the suite seams
This works for small holes, but if you use too much it can irritate your skin because it's not soft/smooth when it cures.
Wow a free suite....where did you score that sale....100% off? https://www.wetsuitwearhouse.com/PROD/0146.html?pdv=c&gclid=CLS6zPPMwsgCFU1qfgodwdkK3w#.Vh6gHThdH9A I have used this over the years for seams...may work if the hole is not to large (that's what she said)
Did you do that around the neck hole, or somewhere else that gets a ton of stretch action getting in and out? I got a 1/2 tear on the neck of my mutant that I'm deciding wether her nor not to take needle and floss to
Plain old contact cement from the hardware store with a little black pigment added to the jar. Its the exact same stuff you'd pay $20 a jar for at a surf shop.
here's a tip from your uncle GWood, if you use that aqua seal "M" wetsuit cement stuff put it right in the freezer when you are done and it won't harden up, wasting the rest of the tube. Oh and deos anybdyo kwon if tht tolene kemichal in aquaseal damages ur brian?
Before you try the needle and floss method- try the neoprene contact cement (the stuff shown on here in the metal jar) it's works wonders for a clean cut or tear- when you glue it as the directions specify it's seems Stronger then the rest of the suit.
I just did this to my suit...bought it used...will glue really work? It tore on the collar where it was stitched and glued. It would be awesome if glue would just work. I would be concerned about chafing with the glue and durability.
