OK so I just bought a Firewire Sweet Potato and Junker Orion board(probably clean up and use for wall art) for $140.... I have always wanted to try a Sweet Potato for those lazy summer NE days but always said I would lean more towards a Baked Potato BUT FOR 140 and the board is water tight with a couple of little dings that were easy to fix, no compression dents on the deck at all I just couldnt pass it up. So what do you think?

Also these are running the FCS style fins. I know alot of people run the Future controllers on them but obviously I cannot so what would be a good FCS two tab style fin to run on this sweet potato to get the most drive, speed, and hold out of it?

    Pics attached!

Those boards were probably stolen if you paid that price.
That puts you in a compromised position.....receiving stolen goods.
Of course, we all hope I am wrong and moronic on this one, ey?? <grin>

LOL My son and I are gonna try it out next week. For 140 bucks I figured it was well worth the investment to give it a try and see if its something we would like or not. If we dont, I will be selling it so I will keep you in mind for sure if you are truly interested. Where you from?

I am on the Cape, I just took the initial post to mean you were selling it. If you don't end up liking it or want to sell it in the future though let me know. Sweet board for a crazy deal. Let me know :)

Use the design of the board to determine your preference. If it has little to no rocker and good fin channels then paddling and speed generation shouldn't be a problem, but the width of the nose and probably the thickness will make it harder to get the board around easily or responsively. Go for something more control/performance based over speed/ drive based, because the design of the board should allow you plenty of speed on its own. what finbox system is it?

It is the FCS one with the tabs... I would have gotten the Future controllers but for obvious reasons I cannot. I hear alot of good things about the FCS COMPRESSORS.. Funky looking and neon green but they are really suppose to work well for SP's with the FCS style fin boxes.

If one depends on a certain fin to surf well....give up surfing. Take up extreme knitting.
