opera room in wilmington north carolina has 50 cent pints of pbr on draught all day everyday. beat that.

 

Yeah, that's pretty damn good.

 

Didn't know they still made the swill. Haven't seen it around in can't recall how long.
Honestly, I have no fond memories of the stuff.

 

I used to drink Schlitz dueces in st augusine in my college days back in 08 so they gotta still be around. The kangaroo on beach Blvd across from the pier had em.

 

Schlitz...my Dad's favorite beer...rhymes with.....

 

When I was younger I couldn't get enough Rolling Rock. Stopped buying it completely when they sold out to AB and stopped putting painted lables on the bottles. You can still get it everywhere. The cans look like '90s sprite cans.

Luckly Sierra Nevada opened a brewery here in NC. A $13 12er of Torpedo will warm any chilly heart.

 

I never liked Rolling Rock. Now, I DO like Sierra, you lucky bastard! HA

 

I used to throw a big ass shindig every summer called the "Schlitz and Lime Badminton Tournament and Drunk." Had trophies, Police visits for parking and noise violations, tent camping in the front yard...

Put a lime in any crappy beer and it tastes better than a Corona...

Hmmm indeed, i'll keep an eye out. I saw a 6er of bottles with sticker logos at the grocery the other day. Gave me that regretful nostalgia feeling in my stomach :/ This used to be such a great country.

 

in college, the cheapest beer was Milwaukee's best, 3 bucks for a 6 pack, and 5 bucks for a 12 pack; i think it was 30 bucks for a keg... not the best tasting beer...

In college (mid-late 70s), it was Old Milwaukee in kegs, Coors in cans, Lucky Lager in cases (pictographs on underside of caps), and sometimes Henry Weinhard's which was more expensive.

 

Best beer ad jingle ever, and one that would have today's PC-insane monitoring contingent in an uproar:

"Schaefer is the one beer to have,
when you're havin' more than one!"
