Sometimes paddling in the opposite direction of where the surfer is heading (ie towards the foam) just puts you on a collision course with the surfer, when otherwise you'd be up and over the shoulder before even getting anywhere near the surfer. But people ignore that (extremely common) situation because it goes against surf ettiquette, even though it's really just using common sense.

I don't know nothin" aboot these new crop of Jersey photogs, as I am a loyal Seth Stafford fan. But they all seem to suffer from some ego problems and think they are a bit cooler than they are.
