Like 5446 said, it is pretty bad form to start calling out body boarders when all you can do is barely swim and you try to ride a 8' fun shape that my daughter would laugh at. I think an apology is in order, you know, to get off on the proper foote and all. So lets call a do over, and try again.
boogie bodying ties your room together and this guy peed on it. but he's new and new guys don't know. now he does. move on
I know the timing is off, but for some reason I feel compelled to say, and proud we are of all of them.
Boogers own those Belmar bowls We own all them bowls in front of the Jettys I rarely see any standup dudes do the suicide take off on them Jetty Bowls Not even Jesus aka Mr. Belmar...and that dude can walk on water Jesus dawg you still owe me a beer Where's Little Rick.....
Not in the least bit sensitive or offended. I can take it and dish it. Let's all relax though, and I apologize if I offended any of you ladies. Unbind those panties. My 8' board tapers from front to back and ends in a pintail, which probably makes it a bit jumpy, so it's prob not the best first choice, but the price was right and it got me out on the water. Single fin. I'm already thinking about trying out a second board, 8.5'-9' with slightly fuller shape in the back half, and cut off tail, single fin. My surfing aspirations are simple: stay on my feet and cruise along some waves. Not looking to surf shortboards, not looking to do tricks. "I've fallen and I can't get up" doesn't work well out there. What I've read so far seem to indicate that a longer single-fin board might work well for me. Right now I don't know enough to know if I should trade for that longer board now, or just hang in there for a while...I could end up liking this board. What do you guys think (other than go drown myself, etc.)? Thinking about taking Friday off to get a 2 day surf weekend...
You didn't offend me haole, it was an non-emotional correction. Do you even know who Tom Curren is? As far as what you need...tell us less about your aspirations and more about your abilities. Can you catch waves with ease? Can you pop up and ride down the line. Half the battle is wave knowledge, knowing what to take what to pass, where to be when you see one you want, etc, etc. And that can be learned on just aboot any surfbort. And consider this, any flack you catch here will be nothing compared to your first day of denial in the ocean when and if you test yourself.
Aye dawg aye Man I scored some little nugs at the Ol' IBSP last week meant to hit you up but it was hit split mission..you know like butter face bar fly who has an enormous booty DP pre work sesh Friday Maybe we'll run into this dude but then again there's aboot a hundred others who surf with the same skill level in the 23' zones Theys afeared of getting washed over the rocks..Lil Ricky isn't
Aw shucks, he told me to eat dirt. I was starting to look up a bunch of 1950s slang to insult back at him, but I figured by page six of this threade he died of oldness already. Hey silverback penile implant comrag Oedipus hole, we're having fun on here. Now seriously apologize to Sheldonation by blowing him until ye be dead dead dead.
Hey silverton- As to your board question: if your not looking to get into shortboarding- get a bigger board for sure. Don't be afraid of a board over 9'- it will be easier for you to learn on. Easier to paddle. Easier to float. Easier to catch waves. And easier to stand up. and more stable. If you ask me- it's easier to learn on a 9ft+ board then an 8ft board. And if your looking to cruise on the wave- totally a 9ft board or longer. I have one 9'4- two 9'6 and one 10'4. So don't be afraid to get something longer- specially being an older grom.
Dudeski where have you been??? Been out at Belmar lately?? You know my spot!! I don't drink- so I don't have any beer. Sorry bro. You like soda? I got some soda and seltzer water.
A guy at your age should be able to afford a decent longboard. That is a board 9 foot or longer, wide rounded nose. Single fin would be best for you for now. With a bit of rocker on the nose and the tail so you can turn it and not pearl it. Go old school fiberglass, a bit of extra weight will give you momentum equals stability. Make sure you have an oxygen tank in the trunk for post session therapy. Or some kine. If you go with the O2, don't blaze after, it might all go boom. These are tips you will not find anywhere else. Thank me later grandbrah.
hey kook a lot of us play guitar and surfing is was harder than learning a Achord. so gtfo come to my break and your car will end up in the ocean like the crazy mom in florida that drove her van on kids into the ocean on difference is..it that theres no kids and its your pile of sht 1993 honda accord.
Thanks for all the info fellas, both about surfing and the various lobotomized states of some of y'all. Crap, a 9' board won't fit in my '93 accord!
