i had this thing in costa rica. I was staying at this hostel that i fondly refer to as "hotel california". It was one of those places you could stay at your entire life and just become trapped in purgatory. Headhigh surf at least 300 days a year, clean at dawn and dusk. Hot foreign eurotrash as far as the eye could see...5 bux a night with a free pancake and fruit breakfast. You get the picture. so anyway everyday around lunch i would go into the air conditioned computer lab. i surfed all morning in the scorching tropical heat with the occasional shady barrel. upon entering the frisky cold ac air, i would sit down at some long awaited internet and check the future swell report for the region. Whenever i got stoked on the prospects i would be like YEAAA and rub my hands together and my feet would get this sharp pins and needles feeling. STRONG, similar to stepping on coral with calluses on the feet. would happen ever day for months every time i rubbed my hands together like that. now its gone go figure man your nerves are shot.
Had it checked out. Torn tendons. AKA Extensor Tendonitis. Overuse injury common with old people like me. I work out a lot to keep in shape when there's no surf. The pros are I'm not overweight, no cholesterol or blood pressure problems, basically great shape for my age. Not taking any pharmaceuticals like most people my age. The cons of working out a lot are that my tendons are wearing out. Web MD? Don't need it. Remember, there is a pill for everything according to mainstream medical. Don't go down that slippery slope.
