    Hello Swellinfo,

I'll be getting married in August and was wondering if anybody had any suggestions for a good honeymoon/surf destination. My fiance doesn't surf so it needs to be somewhere that has other sorts of entertainment to keep her occupied while I try to get a few sessions in. If the place had a spot nearby with smaller rolling waves for her to learn on that would be a bonus, but the water would have to be warm.

One time in your life, don't be selfish. Ask your lady where SHE wants to go. It'd be a different story if she surfed.

Pictures of fiance if you want any more advise!

Im glad im not the only one thinkin that. But for what its worth i went to Tahiti (my wifes choice) and met a bro there. He was kind enough to take me out to a little reef pass on his skiff. He lent me a board, smoked some ganja w me gave me a tatoo. It Was on the island of Morea sp? All by chance... but i needed clearance from her before. If i didnt surf it was still the best trip i ever went on

Nice. I like your posts btw 5446.

PAshred.......happy wife happy life......maybe go somewhere without surfing to show her how important she is. Then when you want to skimp on some dumb family function when its firing sh'll under stand a bit more?

EDIT: Good luck buddy!!!! Have a good honey moon where ever you go. If you can sneak in a surf thats a nice bonus.

These places will be awesome for you and your wife for surfing and relaxing: Bali, Puerto, Playa Grande Costa Rica, Bocas Del Toro (although not guaranteed waves) Cabo San Lucas although super toursisty and I havent been there. . Have fun my marriage has been insanely amazing but my wife surfs and is hot and is awesome. Your mileage may vary

Thanks, I'll definitely leave it up to her to decide. Maybe we'll go somewhere where she could learn....that way she'd be more open to surf trips in the future.

Waimea on a large day is ideal to learn.
    If not, Pipeline??

Likewise bub. I never gave it much thought at that time but after years of marriage we had a talk w friends who were getting married and she spelled it out for me and the groom to be. We (men) have NO idea exactly how long a girl plans for the big day and the honeymoon. You give her that attention n it will go a long way. The other extremely important day is when she gives birth. Dont look at it as vacation days. Shes expecting you to be a man not a surfer

I agree with Scobes, let her decide.

But you can gently steer her to Cabo. Lots of touristy stuff to do, everybody speaks English, US dollars are welcome, and the surf is gentle this time of year. And, it's only a very short drive to escape the tourists and experience solitude and real Mexico.

If you do, check out Balandra Beach. Super romantic... your wife will love you for it.

    DONT drive at night.

We actually looked into Playa Grande before, so that could be a possibility. Jawn, never heard of the surf social.

If she's open to trying and you'r not trying to head to the other side of the world, Barbados. Best of both worlds. Relaxing Caribbean destination, consistent surf.

Texas. Specifically, Austin. Wave pool should be completed by then.

That will give you plenty of time to work on your intro tread, what the he!! is happening to this place.

I got married in August, too... did Paris for a few days, then Basque Country... France and Spain. Then back to Paris for a few more days, then home.
