Let's see...widgets manufacturing. If I can sell a widget for X and manufacture it for Y here or Z there where Y > Z then, will I manufactured widgets:

    A) Here
    or
    B) There

It comes down to profit margin. If a company can't turn a profit then why be in business? NAFTA did create a more favorable environment to manufacturer widgets there....and labor cost certainly plays a part in cost structure. But, taxes do too. You can't deny the fact that large corporations are fleeing the US due to taxes....it's factual. Also, think about the small to mid size corporations that are the back bone of our economy (<250 employees). Don't you think lower taxes would spur some sort of growth (money kept in the hands of the citizens)? It is almost blatantly logical.

There will never be enough profit for big business period. Greedy bastids would sell their mom for a few more dollars.

Please, you are using good business logic, something moronic envious, bank hating, success hating, corporation haters such as Slash cannot deal with. Funny thing is, if they had tried to succeed as well, they would have. But nooooo, all hail to socialism!!

Your only respond to the argument is al hail socialism you can't deal with or help make a solution that would benefit everyone other than bashing socialism. I'm sorry you'll lose profits but your a Capitolist and in the capital world you can go cry about it and die in the streets of hunger because you made bad investments survival of the fitest right???

Maybe so...but, the whole globe is still spinning with lots of ambitious folks who want to succeed in life, work hard, provide a nice life for theirs. Have you ever tried running a small business or worked for a medium size business? I have all my life....choosing to steer cleer of the corporate world.

The big question Lazy is this: Would you rather let the gov't set your table or would you rather have the ability to set it yourself? I have never been able to get my arms around the social problems of this world. I am as compassionate as the next guy but beyond helping those who can't help themselves, what next....the Gov't? No thanks.

The US is an Oligarchy. We are not a republic any more and capitalism doesn't rule. Take it from the guy working for some of the larger corporations in this country.

Small corporations are paying fairly low taxes. Sorry man, my corporation is 300k strong globally. We bring in billions of dollars. Taxes are the least of our worry. In fact, we get around paying most of them by operating as a non-profit. We are expanding in the US and Asia. The US is a market where we must compete using quality, so we increase local manufacturing and engineering to help. For parts that require less precision engineering and manufacturing, we move more work into Asia/China/Turkey. It is a no brainer that labor rates are the main deciding factor.

I don't hate corporations. They pay my bills. However, demonizing democratic socialism is just silly. My company grew to a massive corporation in a country that has democratic socialist ideals. The founder of my company was a socialist. He believed the company should not exist for profit, and created a structure where all profit was given back to the community, employees, and management. If more companies followed his lead, we wouldn't need to worry about corporate taxes and regulations. Unfortunately, and I can tell you this from experience, we are a rare company in the global scene.
