If I could fly it would be a mile, 6 minutes by car. On still nights i can hear the roar of the surf and smell the spray. Love that part of living here.
That's some truth. Walking over a sand dune 5 mins from your house, or pulling up to a lot 10 miles from your front door and not seeing waves/ good conditions is NOT getting skunked. Its called living at the farking beach you ungrateful chuckleheads. You have to put some time into the search to throw out the skunked label. If you live at the beach, go for a local surf check and its not looking good, that's not "getting skunked", that's "Maybe I'll check it again in a couple hours cause I live at a beach that gets surf which is essentially the same as living the dream, woe is me."
15 to 20 min drive from beach, depending on where i surf at my stomping grounds. can't afford to own a house close to the beach...otherwise I would live much closer. i live an hour and change from work...priorities, bruh.
ohhh emassclemson what are we going to do for you maybe you need more jesus! #impacting the coast for jesus
We must be neighbors. In the winter, I get my surfing in on the big white waves that are only 1-1.5 hours away. Not the same, but good enough to keep me stoked until the water warms up.
Busted. That's my grand plan. Don't tell anyone else 'cause I don't want anyone jacking up the price of 'waterfront' land that's currently 150 miles from the boardwalk any more than it already is.
I live 10 minutes from sandy hook,if I can catch all the lights it would take me 5 but that's impossible. only problem is the only glimpse I get of the waves is when I'm going over the highlands bridge and I have to think stay on ocean ave or go to sandy hook.u cant see the waves from the road,we have seawalls and long azz beaches so u have to keep parking, walk down the beach just to see if its any good and u do that like 5x before u finally settle in at a spot.
7 blocks. Seriously a blessing to be so close- but far enough away. Before 2000 I was about 50min and it was killing me. I remember driving to the beach listening to the ol weather radio trying to figure if the waves would be any good and which beach would be best... Oh man those where the days- although the trip was a killer-there was something about the trip- the adventure, excitement and anticipation. Also I didn't take it for granted- now I find that I do... I feel for you guys who are more then 30 min away... Specially yank at 3hrs!!!
2 minutes to one spot and if I go another 2 miles south to the orv in the summer, could take another 10-15 minutes depending on the time of day...because of the dam pony rubberneckers. Never try the orv on sat mid am and early afternoon in the peak summer season...could wait hours to get on the beach. If I did, it would be 4 miles from home but could take me 2-4 hours to get on the sand...long lines of the wrong kind!! When it's really big...I can hear the rumble...love that!
