who here has been surfing this week?

stayed glassy all day today on Delmarva. Slightly soft but fun chest high waves this afternoon. The christmas/newyears/warm weather crowds are gone!

 

Are you still planning a PR trip?? So far, it has been very quiet and flat there for a winter season. I would do a little long range forecasting before you go, perhaps on Surfline. I say that even though I am not a true believer in long range forecasts.
I keep watching every day to see if it is worth a quick trip (3-4 days), but, NOPE!! I don't feel the love just yet....

 

Barry... I'm doing the same thing. A few friends went down for a week over winter break, and got zip. Glad I didn't go.

Yesterday I got out just in time for the wind to go sideshore and turn perfect, glassy, chest high lines into complete junk. What have I done to deserve this???

Winter still has some ways to go, so we still may get a good 3-4 day trip in.

Nice...should of went out later afternoon...I surfed in late am until 2...looks alot cleaner later in the day...it had some bump earlier but started smoothing out just before I left.

 

Yup, it is.
But still not enough to jolt me to go there to go surfing; seems it will drop for next 2 days.
Next week promises to be better!!

This seems to be my fate today. Wrapping up a project. May be able to get there just as the wind turns. It's overhhead liners now.

Yesterday late afternoon I got cabin fever and paddled out in overhead heavy onshores. Barely made it out, drifted into one peak and got a sick pigdog left into oblivion. The lifeguard said I was the only one that went out. Sometimes I am a real moron.

 

next few days might be fun according to my buddy in rincon. said he got me a spot on the beach for 500 for all of feb too when i decide to go

 

I don't think you can go wrong either way, it's pretty consistent this time of year

I have important appointments Fri & Mond. So I will decide Monday PM to go or not. I may have to miss this swell, but there will be more!!

 

i think im gonna hold up on real waves till feb and slowly work the knee into it with the chop around here. No sense it blowing it out on my first XLish swell in a few months. I have faith N.E. will provide for my needs in january until im ready to charge in feb. (i hope)

Maybe haveing a new wetsuite with all the trimmings this year is influencing my cold water desire as well...

 

It is a wise decision to consider your knee. Passing up on this swell allows for you to enjoy many more in the future.
I may have to pass on this one as well. A biologics company is interested in giving me a job, so I am in the interviewing process (I hate being retired; really, really hate it. Boring as hell).

im just stoaked i can be in the water on my singlefin/fish again. Now i can look at these promising reports with hope and happiness rather then jealous disdain and jaded curmudgeonism.
